I really like the hours of the camp! YMCA is the only camp in Louisville that has coverage for normal work hours, the price is fair and my kiddos have loved camp. They love their counselors and come home happy and worn out. They had a good variety of field trips and outdoor activities. The only thing I could ask would be for more swim days, one day a week is not enough.
The art class was excellent, outstanding teacher and class atmosphere was welcoming, will be attending the next class with my family
Pool, friendly people! Use to be able to do the exercise classes & I loved them & all the instructors, I have a bad shoulder & knees now!
The facilities are clean and expansive, my child loves Kids Club, and I truly enjoy the group fitness classes. I enjoy my time spent at the Y!
They have activities for the kids all day
I like the pool best, I don't have to worry about having aches and pain if I am swimming. Unlike lifting weights or treadmills. I really wish that the Southwest YMCA had earlier pool times. I used to come in at 5 am, however you only have two days a week where that is possible. Even a 6 or 7 am would work. I like to get my swimming in early before work. I work for JCPS and the earlier times would be/was awesome for me.
The atmosphere at the SW YMCA is very positive. The staff is helpful, and the facilities are clean. I appreciate the updates that have been made to the cardio equipment and the women’s locker room in the past few months. I very much enjoy working out there!

Layout and the family feeling!
The staff is very helpful and easy to talk to. The facility is clean. It’s a smaller facility so it gets a little crowded at times with 10 people using free weights. I usually break up my exercise routine to half cardio and the other half weight training and it’s usually a better fit for me.
Y’all are friendly
I love how the camp director takes time to talk to me, and answer any question I may have.
The friendly staff? The Childcare is truly a blessing for our family! I am able to get some adult time and feel refreshed knowing our children are having fun and well taken care of!
