The water fitness classes! In particular, Carla's class on Wednesday/every other Friday is fantastic.
The pool when the water temperature is
decent. It's just too cold at times. Has to be a way to keep it at a constant temp.
It's not the life guards fault. Management should be able to take charge of this issue an get it resolved. It's been going on for years!!!

I have been meaning to write something about the YMCA for a long time. Since this is in my inbox here is my chance.
The YMCA has become my safe place, after a work day there is nothing i look forward more than to go to the YMCA. Of course, I like working out and feeling the gratification of doing something good for my body. But I could do this at any gym or at home, at the same time I know it won't be the same experience.
These are the things I love about the YMCA and why it has become kind of my second home.
To start, I love to always be greeted with a smile. All the front desk staff are welcoming and genuine. I also love walking and seeing entire families from different backgrounds going in an our of the building. Most of the times there is an ocasional toddler running at the lobby as I am entering the building.
I love all the classes, and that's the main reason why I chose the YMCA over any other gym. But I have gotten to know some instructors who are very inspiring to me. Rebecca from the Monday yoga class has transformed my boring Mondays to a day I now look for. Nikkia gets my week started right with the Dance class on Tuesdays, and Skip has taught me a lot about good music and Tabata on Wednesdays. If I am consistent enough, I will make it to Thursday when Diane and her super intense I don't know the name class" really kicks my butt and leaves me on recovery for a couple days. Phew! I love the variety of classes and specially how considerate and consistent the instructors are. Skip and John the trainers in the Gym are always helpful, and talkative and open to questions. I like that they know my name and the names of many other YMCA customers.
But additionally to the wonderful staff, I like the culture of the YMCA. i have always felt safe, included, welcome, and I feel the same with the other customers. The Y is a gym that lifts you up on your healthy goals, instead of intimidating you with unrealistic results and show off trainers.
I am proud of being a YMCA member, and I am planning to be a member until I go to a Silver Sneakers class.
THANK YOU! You are all amazing.

Staff and members

I appreciate many things about the YMCA: prayer before the games, Christian principles and good sportsmanship are encouraged, and the constant email reminders of our schedules. Me. Debbie does an excellent job keeping us organized!
