i just became a member and started with the Aqua Fit class. I love it! Since the pool closed, I will be coming inside and utilizing the tread mills. Walking is a very good exercise and it's good for all body parts.
This location is smaller than the one I usually attend. Simply wanted to check it out as an alternative to the downtown YMCA. Honestly didn't check out any of the offered programs. Even though the workout area is smaller, I did like the newer model equipment. Definitely a great YMCA for those who live in that part of town.
I love the machines & lockers. I DO wish y'all had a year-round pool, though.
I really like the trainers for the Les Miles rpm and body pump classes.

Zumba is fun and Jennifer and the ladies are so supportive and fun!
They are easy to sign up for and if there is a fee involved, it is reasonable.

The friends I make when I attend Leanne's Gentle Yoga and Chair Yoga class. I know Leanne really cares about me and helps me listen to my body so I don't do too much. She is patient and kind and always has the best interest of her students in mind. She makes the class fun and I learn a lot. Best of all, I have made good friends with the others who attend Leanne's classes. We have as much fun talking together as we do doing the Yoga. We even meet outside of the Y! This is due a lot to Leanne's influence. You must be really proud to have Leanne as an employee. She keeps loyal members coming back to the Y. Except for taking off around the time of Covid, I have been a Y member since the Y was at Clark Nowlin on Basswood Blvd. Thanks for keeping the Y a friendly, member-centered place.
We DO NEED A LARGER FACILITY in the summer when the kids are there along with all of us seniors!! When will that happen???? Our area continues to grow and add more people, but our facility doesn't seem to expand any at all. Thanks!!

Location and times
Hello! My name is Mary and I am a wheelchair user. I frequently go to the pool at this location for hydrotherapy workouts by myself. The lifeguards, Layla and Scooter, are AMAZING at helping me use the pool life to get in and out of the indoor pools. They are always attentive to their patrons and their lifeguard work is truly outstanding!
Enthusiastic people leading the classes is nice. The programs address the needs of seniors.
SO, for the building on Forrest Ridge & Harwood..The Work out Area with the machines are NOT ideal. If you are a woman, you may not feel comfortable laying on the stretch mats on the floor, I know I do not. You have men sitting around gazing at women working out, I believe there should be a Separate Work Out Room for the Women. Some of the machines are facing face to face - Why, who turned them in such a way? Other than this one Negative ,, I Love Bedford's YMCA on Forrest Ridge Bedford.
Yoga, line dancing, silver sneakers are great programs at good times.

The handlebars cannot be adjusted. They are wrapped with Duck tape and immovable.
