Member Testimonials
Staff is great, kids stay busy and my son loves it there.
The counselors are very caring and have offered a lot of support to my son. He has really enjoyed camp and looks forward to going. The staff including the lifeguards and the program director have been kind and accommodating. I wish I knew more names! It's been such a relief to have him be physically active and stimulated opposed to being at home on screens too much with little socialization.
We have not been members long, but my Grandson Oliver (who I'm raising) and I have really enjoyed the pool. Oliver took lessons there and Madison, his teacher was just the best!! She made him comfortable with her warmth and friendliness. She made it easy for him to catch on and he thoroughly enjoyed his time. Two of my other grandsons, that I keep on Fridays and Saturdays, for their mother also LOVE the Y. Everyone is friendly and kind. I am looking forward to taking some water aerobics and other classes in the Fall when Oliver goes back to school.
The programs are very engaging and there are a lot of activities planned throughout the day.

Well run with friendly staff!
Well run with friendly staff and kiddos!
The diversity of students, counselors and activities.
I love how organized camp is and how many activities are planned each day to keep my son engaged. The staff does a great job notifying parents of any issues or highlighting great successes. My son is excited to go to camp everyday and asks to stay as long as possible. He loves it!
Swim team for youth has been a great way to ensure my child has the ability to safely navigate the water. I have already recommended the YMCA to my friends and family. Developing strong swim skills was a must this summer to prepare him for Sailing Academy for Sea Scouts and Aquatic School in Boy Scouts.
Northpark YMCA has done a fantastic job of providing the kids with a fun yet safe environment. The activities are fun and creative. The staff is well engaged. My son couldn’t wait to go back daily.
The indoor pool! The swim lessons, instructors, everything.
My daughter loves the program!
The summer swimming program is very thorough. We’ve tried other swimming lessons that were nowhere near as organized, with no goals or acknowledged outcomes, leaving you to wonder what progress your kid made. The YMCA program is very clear about their goals, with repeated drills for the kids to work towards those goals, as well as reports on how the kids are doing. We enjoyed it so much last year that we signed up for another two weeks. We would have done it this year too if it was open. Unfortunately, we had to start late this summer. Our daughter really struggled with her confidence and backslid a lot at the beginning. Her peers were doing things we knew she was capable of and she was very anxious and wouldn’t participate. Kesh noted that and took time for a private one on one time with her the next day prior to her lesson. It was like a different kid was swimming when she was done. She was confident and capable. The kid who was clinging for dear life was jumping by herself into the neighborhood pool a few days later, swimming to the top and back to the wall- all by herself. She is begging to practice in our pool now. Thank you for the time invested in the kids! The results speak for themselves.
My grandchildren have attended both YMCA locations. The site manager at Northpark is awesome. She extends herself to get to the bottom of things. She’s professional and one of grandchildren that attend their days she likes it there and staff is friendly.
I really like how they take time with each student and made sure the pool was. Clean before the kids got in and had lifeguards on duty.
How organized the field trips are and the staff make sure to keep the parents informed of the details regarding the trips.i feel sending my great grandson to the YMCA summer camp was a great decision.
The trainers are good and focused. They discuss the stand of the kids and do let us know where they lag or improve
Kept my girls busy!
Clark has really enjoyed camp this summer! I appreciate that he has been very engaged and active!
Me and my daughter are in swimming lessons,Kash is so amazing an patient with kids
Definitely recommended him to my friends
I my self learned a lot from pin and him
They've been a lot of fun
Like that my son has so many activities and so excited to get up to go to camp daily
I like the broad selection of activities and skills the kids learn!
My kids have a lot fun participating in the different activities.
I really appreciate that Camp Carter emphasizes keeping kids active and connected with nature.
The first summer camp my son ever attended had a philosophy centered around trusting kids to make their own decisions. That meant he spent the entire summer in a blackout room glued to an iPad and eating nothing but pizza.
Camp Carter has been a completely different experience. My son comes home excited to tell me about their daily hikes (which sometimes include treasure hunts), the delicious meals (of which he often gets seconds), and all the fun activities they do together.
We’ll definitely be back! Once his siblings are old enough, they’ll be coming too.
Programs are okay, but the swim camp needs to be improved.
Variety of programs for variety of ages . Scholarship programs for the eligible. Safety screening /training for staff working with children . Friendly helpful staff answering phones and emails .
The swim instructors were amazing! Luca gained so much confidence from his lessons. We’ll definitely be signing up again.
