All the preliminary work was easy and straightforward. Signing of documents both online and in person were a breeze. The staff were friendly. There was just a short period of panic while waiting to see the funds when I learned from my own personal bank they have specific instructions when it comes wiring of funds, which could’ve caused a much longer delay. Long story short it doesn’t go directly into our account. My only suggestion might be that when dealing with smaller institutions like a small credit Union to ask the client if they know of or have checked for special instructions for deposits. I do blame myself. I should’ve checked with my bank well ahead of time. But for inexperienced sellers like myself it may have helped to have someone double check that before final closing. Our realtor Jessie McClary really worked overtime to try and find out as much information for us a possible since many of the key persons involved were out of office due to the weather and holidays by the time we found out our banks instructions hadn’t been provided up front (we closed on the Thursday 22nd of December). Like I say Jessie McClary worked tirelessly reaching out to everyone she could in order to help us despite not being involved in the financial side normally. We had our funds barely a day after closing despite the hiccup. Kudos to her!
