Love the Y
I like the atmosphere and the staff
I like the people working there - they are very helpful and considerate. I like the facility and its location. There is plenty of equipment and are exercise classes for all levels of exercise. I like the locker rooms. I would love for there to be a bathing suit water extractor in each of the locker rooms. That is a nice feature at most of the other YMCA's that I visit. A hot tub would also be nice! We are so thankful for Luter YMCA!
I am not into large crowds when it comes to my personal fitness, so the size of the studio makes me very comfortable and personal.
great atmosphere clean equipment friendly staff
convenience as we live in Cololial Heritage. Hot tub and sauna are nice treats. Locker room is too small; need back machine in workout room.
Very welcoming... greeters at front desk. Community feel. Extremely clean and great machines and atmosphere.

Friendliest workers and fellow Y friends
The instructor was very accommodating to my child in her progress and consistently kept my child engaged and learning of advanced skills as she masters her current tasks. Ms. Taylor was awesome!
Encourages me to keep going. Love the class I take!
the programs and instructors are all knowledgeable of what they are teaching, the safety of environment, the cleanliness of the place and staff have pleasant personalities
It’s a friendly and great place to workout.
The classes are excellent and the instructors are approachable if modifications or workout tips are needed.
I like that the Fort Monroe location is quiet and not extremely busy to where you have to always wait on every machine . I am able to get my workout program completed in decent time. It’s honestly a hidden gem! I like that it has an upper and lower area to work out. The separation of areas allows me to also use the stairs as part of my workout. The staff is always friendly and willing to help with the equipment and answering questions.
I love Water Aerobics. The instructors are fantastic.
Beautiful facility. Nice people
I Love my class with Amanda. Really gets a good workout!

My family loves the Hampton Family YMCA! Always a great experience!
Staff is great! Machines are clean. Gym is spacious & hardly ever crowded. Plenty of different equipment to choose from :)
The equipment I use is readily available and it is not too crowded. Sauna is great and the location is just right for me.
Great classes
I found the staff to all be extremely courteous, professional and helpful. And the facility is very clean with an impressive array of equipment. I would like to give special recognition to staff member Madison Knight who processed my enrollment with tremendous enthusiasm and support. She provided the most gracious, welcoming and helpful experience in my memory! I look forward to incorporating frequent visits to the Luter Family YMCA of Smithfield into my life. I only wish that I had done so sooner. Thank you!
Staff is always friendly, helpful and professional. Facility is clean and adequate parking. I enjoy the variety of exercise classes and convenient times. The aquatic exercise classes are wonderful and life guards are very attentive.
