The people are friendly and the facility is clean and the equipment is well maintained.
It is close to my residence and convenient. It has scenic and water views that are refreshing when walking on the treadmill. It has a variety of equipment with an upstairs and downstairs. The staff is usually very friendly and helpful(That Maria is something else!). The fees are reasonable. I see a number of people there that I know. It has historical architecture.
It's clean. Staff good. "New" exercise area upstairs is very nice. Pool always a good temperature and pleasant swim always!
Jeff is so wonderful with our aroubics class on Mond ,Weds..and Firdays. We all just LOVE him. He always makes it fun!!!!
Friendly people and not as crowded as other Ys. Silver Sneakers exercise room is large and cooler due to several fans on the walls. The Y in Yorktown gets way too hot for me. Too many people in a small room. Love the people there too, but I get overheated during exercise there.
May try again this winter.

The Fort Monroe Y is quiet, and enjoyable, and has excellent equipment. It is my favorite of the three Hampton locations.

I Love the Y. It is a great place for Seniors to meet and become friends. Not only do you have great exercise classes, but you give us a place to sit and talk; to create a community. This is very important for Seniors who live alone. We constantly remark about what a great place this Y is compared to other ones that don't foster fellowship. Your employees are wonderful and friendly. Keep up the good work!
I like the very friendly atmosphere created by the employees. The hours of operation are very good for providing members an opportunity to access the facility at a time convenient for them.
There is also a wide variety and abundance of equipment so that everyone can easily find a free piece of equipment to use. There are also a variety of classes in which members can participate.
In summary, it's a wonderful facility from the staff to the variety of equipment and classes.

A very family oriented vibe from staff. I enjoy the smiles entering and existing which makes for a complete workout.
Nice facilities, not too crowded.
You do fix the hot/cold water controls in the men’s showers, they are reversed.
Also, I was on a treadmill upstairs, I hit stop, the treadmill stopped, and I was standing on it looking the other way and the treadmill restarted, I almost fell off.
Nonetheless, this is my new favorite YMCA!!!

The staff is excellent - knowledgeable and friendly but more than that they really seem to care about the members. The variety of programs has something for everyone.

Love the people the atmosphere the all over environment of the Y you get to meet and enjoy during exercise and making new friends and the staff is great so glad l joined even when l feel bad going there helps so much.
