I like that there are a variety of programs and activities. There is something for everyone.
I've never used any of your programs or activities. I just use the gym.
senior exercise and other activities
We have a group of folks that are committed to being healthy and regularly attend during the week. They are good people and we enjoy their company and friendship. This is what the YMCA stands for in the community.
great opportunities for seniors, staff is helpful and friendly
I love North River YMCA! It is a great mix of young and old people learning and becoming fit!
The Old Person Swim Class ( That is what we call ourselves) at 7:15 is the best fitness class I have taken at North River YMCA. I love the teacher ( Kim) and the swim buddies that come every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It is a caring group of people who encourage each other to do their best. We also have have younger people that enjoy the class.
The front desk people are always courteous and smiling. They are quick to help with great answers on the classes offered. Keep up the awesome work North River YMCA
Accessibility for all ages and ability levels.
I love the available hours and the locker room accessibility. All is great !
Several group classes to choose from. Also North River is committed to the community with family-oriented programs for children as well as for cancer survivors and Parkinson's patients.

I started coming to the YMCA because of the Tai Chi classes. I enjoy both instructors, Shantih and Byron. Although the form of the Tai Chi itself is the same, during the warmup and cool down periods, each brings a slightly different approach, which I see as a positive thing, exposing the class to more options. Both instructors are assets to your facility.
I've walked through and viewed most of the remainder of the facility, but haven't yet made use of any of the other assets available. Perhaps in time, I will expand what I do at the Y, but currently, the Tai Chi classes suit my needs.
Helpful staff and great facility
All the programs offered compliments the facility.
Indoor pool
Always something new.
We mostly use the exercise equipment, but someday may join classes
Aquatic classes are lovely. The dressing rooms need updating , but that’s why I donated to the campaign! I’ve used the gym equipment, and it’s good.
Everyone is just nice and easy to talk to.
early morning classes; less busy than downtown; more laid back; I enjoy the "old guys" who come work out then sit around and drink coffee and talk - it's great to feel like part of the same community. The striping of the pickleball courts - what an unmitigated disaster. It's disappointing that the "measure twice, cut once" adage wasn't followed and that the consequences have been so significant. And the re-orientation of them - so bizarre - any PB player could have told you that changing the orientation wasn't going to work. Further, it's REALLY disappointing that the Y chose to disallow any PB playing instead of leaving it to the discretion/judgment of the PB players. We were playing regularly on Fridays at 0515 - now we are playing elsewhere because the decision makers decided to make it impossible to play at all pending whatever the fix is to the problem.
Have programs for seniors in the morning.
We really enjoy the relationships we've made with other members and staff. We particularly appreciate our trainer, Mike, who has worked with my husband who has disabilities and myself. He is helping us achieve our fitness goals. My husband's cardiologist noted improvement in his condition as a result of getting regular exercise.
I like that there is a basketball court and free weights. I enjoy warming up by shooting hoops and then getting a strength workout in.
