Locker room really needs updating. Badly. And there were only 3 lanes for open swim at 7:30am. I would expect there to be 6,

I love the community and the facility overall. I mostly swim, although I have used the equipment in the past.
My only suggestion: get an anti-chlorine soap for the showers.

Excellent facilities with top-quality equipment, friendly and accommodating personal trainers and staff, and an overall welcoming atmosphere.
The facility is clean, seems well maintained and the staff is courteous, friendly and helpful. The "Y" provides a safe environment for exercising as well as fun and educational activities for all ages.
I gave your company a 10 because of the the gym itself and some of your staff member.
Love the opportunities for my family to play, swim and climb together. Very thankful for child care while I workout and the sports opportunities for my boys.
I always have a wonderful experience at the Y. My home Y is the one in Waverly. It’s clean, the staff is always great and the patrons are always polite.
The hours
Everything: the variety of group exercise classes, the great instructors and the welcoming staff. The Weinberg Y is an anchor both in my life and for the community.
I enjoy that the entire family can workout together.
The security guard on Saturday afternoon very kindly unlocked the playground for our little group. It had been wet earlier but was dry by then. I also had a swim in the pool and I thought it was great (as I always do) that the pool can accommodate a lot of children playing and provide an outlet for a lot of teen energy while still allowing lap space for people who want to do laps.
People are friendly, exercise machines are accessible, nobody judges (that I'm aware of).

Water aerobics
The Waverly Y is a wonderful community-centered "third space" that serves a wide swath of neighborhoods in the area. People of all backgrounds come together at the Waverly Y.
The staff are kind and welcoming for the most part. Ms. Tonia is a WONDERFUL and constant presence at the Y (she is EVERYWHERE), as are the wonderful careworkers in the Stay 'n' Play. We love Ms. Love and Ms. Madison who know our children by name and greet them warmly when they come and go.
Some feedback:
1) I think all staff should get raises, especially given the high salaries of the YMCA's executive staff (CEO is getting $1M+ per most recent 990). I don't even know what the pay rates are for the regular staff and workers, but I am 100% sure they are too low. Please examine your compensation, consider curtailing senior executive pay (I understand there is a heirarchy and pay is meant to be competitive, but...still). Please consider issueing wide-spread worker-centered pay raises for the folks who do the essential labor and day-to-day community work that makes the Y what is it.
2) Please include teachers in this compensation assessment. We are devoted to Body Pump, but there has been a teacher shortage since Lauren stepped back. She was WONDERFUL. We LOVE all our Body Pump teachers, and understand that they only make $25 per class? I think the Y can do better and should do better.
3) Y Camp is great. Everyone was wonderful. Try to get the counselors off their phones. It's good for them and better for the kids.
