BUT, I have to take this opportunity to comment on my experience on Friday morning, April 12, in the pool area. I entered the pool at about 7:15 AM, and was greeted by music BLASTING from a speaker at the far end of the lap pool. The music, Heavy Metal, was so loud that it was difficult to communicate with anyone else in the pool. Also, the life guards were not well positioned. There was no one in the chair, and no one was walking the perimeter of the pool. I spoke to the swimmer in the lane next to me about the conditions, and he said he was going to talk to the guard. At the far end of the pool, he tried with great difficulty to get the attention of any of the guards. He finally did, and I joined him in asking to please turn down the volume. The guards did not turn down the volume, instead just moved the speaker to the area near the family pool.
In my seven years of swimming, this is the most uncomfortable and DANGEROUS conditions I have encountered. If someone had been in trouble, I don't think it would have gone well.

I love the fitness center and the fact that my kids can work out with me.
Great group of people working there. A friendly place, lots of activities, it seems like you try to bring new activities. Pickleball is a great addition and I am enjoying learning to play. Tom is a nice guy with a lot of patience and a hood teacher.
The staff at the front desk are very friendly, helpful and they have a pleasant attitude. But I remember years ago the front desk staff would ALWAYS greet every member when they walked in the door and would say something when we left the building. Sometimes this happens now. I really liked this practice, and it was an important reason why I continued my membership. Just saying Good-Morning, Good-Evening, or have a Great Day was wonderful and it helps members enter or leave the building thinking someone cares and it's not about the MONEY. That being said I do LOVE coming to the "Y" several times a week. The times are convenient, and the programs are great. I like having the text notifications when something is changing/cancelled.
The Ward Y in Abingdon is a very family-friendly location. The staff are very welcoming & helpful. The exercise classes are amazing! I love taking my children to workout with me because they get to better their health right along side of me.
