Swimming and weight room area is great
I love how you adapt the programs to each person's level of activity.
The quality of the equipment and it is rare to have to wait for equipment
I enjoy the programs geared toward seniors and older adults. The programs are informative and provide a health related component.
I joined to use the pool. I have arthritis and spinal problems, and it's about the only exercise I can do. I appreciate: 1. The posting of the open lane times on the web site. 2. The jets in the therapy pool and warm temperature after I swim. 3. The locker rooms and showers are always clean. (As well as the entire facility!) 4. The handicapped stall in the ladies locker room. 5. The friendliness of all the staff.
I like the fact that there’s something for every family member to cater to. No complaining about what they do or don’t want to do. They all find their niche and go for it!
Outstanding facilities and staff!
While I really enjoy coming to the Y, I wish there were more opportunities for water aerobics, especially for seniors. Tuesday/Thursday classes were removed and there are hardly ever openings for the M/W/F classes.
I just rejoined the Y and I’m loving water aerobics class and the strength class. Can’t wait to try yoga. The instructors are the best!
Wellness area is well equipped. Nice variety of activities.
A question a lot of us Summit early morning work out people is why is Tommy no longer there. He was an excellent trainer and related well to everyone.
Yall have a pool which is nice because most gyms in the area dont
The pool
Ask what can be improved:
The cleanliness of the showers locker room, and the parking lot.
Hiring more instructors for aquatics- be creative to pay them!! $14 an hour???? They could be paid more at McDonalds.
If there are not enough slots for participants for water class, hire more life guards!! More people interested means more people are joining!!!!!! Which Means you get more money ! Explain how that is not so at $11 an hour!!!
I like the nice, clean gym facilities. The machines are very nice and well maint
childrens programs
I love the water aerobics and strength classes. All of the instructors are great, and everyone is very friendly and helpful at the YMCA. I have made a lot of good friends there. It's just a fun place to work out and it's been great for me.
I am amazed by how welcoming and friendly both the staff and fellow members have been! The HIIT circuit class this morning was highly challenging, which is what I’m here for. Barbara G. made us all laugh and work our hardest! And Beth’s Pilates class after that was fantastic. Smooth, clear instruction that left us breathing hard and our muscles burning! My kids were hesitant at first in joining a new childcare, but everyone in that department has been so gracious and highly capable in the care of my four children, who range in age from 2 to 10. All of them are getting picked up with smiles and excited to come back. My older kids especially love Phillip’s Youth in Motion class! We’ll be making the Summit YMCA part of our regular routine!
I enrolled the entire family and everyone enjoys that atmosphere of the facility. Two of my children are currently in the swim class and they love it 😀
I am pleased to see more employee engagement and walking of the gym. Supplies are being stocked more and I have seen employees cleaning machines every time I am there. This has been an improvement to previous months.
My wife and I appreciate all the programs that are available to a wide range of age groups and physical capabilities. We are taking advantage of several now and will be adding more in the future.
The facility is clean, organized and overall well run by an excellent staff. We're pleased to be members.
Primarily, I use a he pool for my surgical rehab for my knee. I haven’t started using the weight room yet.
Tennis, I do use the other programs at times, but it is nice that there are clay courts and hard courts. The clay courts need some work but hopefully that will happen. We have a great group playing tennis like family and Biff is helpful. Loved having Roxanne around before, sure miss her.
They're are plenty of activities and a good variety
Indoor pickleball
Gym but not happy there is no option for a personal trainer
Pool
The pool is my favorite. The YMCA is clean. Staff is helpful and friendly
The classes and coach approach are great. I really like working with my coach. She is helping with me with expanding my food options as well as building my confidence. In addition, I wish water aerobics classes were offered daily and water HIIT classes would come back. It would be nice to offer jazzercise as well. Expanding to more types of classes for adults in the 50-60 age group that are between HIIT, cycle, and full body training would be nice. I find it hard to get a class that is in between easy and hard. I know we can modify in each class but it would be nice to have a class that was targeted towards a medium workout for the 50-60 age group.
You provide programs and activities geared for all ages. It is a happy and safe environment for young people as well as adults.
Large selection of activities
I'm still new to the facility, but so far I've enjoyed it. The staff is very nice and helpful. My wellness coach made me feel at ease and met me where I was to start.
I do wish there was some water classes early morning (before 8am) or at night for those who work but still need a low impact class to take.
