Member Testimonials
Like all the hard working staff and group fitness instructors.
The Y is always clean and usually has plenty of parking.
Thanks to all-
Thus far very pleased.
Pickleball
Body strength
Cycle
Clean building, new equipment (much nicer than NE Y) and super friendly staff.
Everyone is very nice and the facility (pool as well) is clean and well maintained.
Clean pool & whirlpool, easy location, Joseph’s group cycling
Excellent range of classes and great instructors. The weight room has plenty of machines and free weights and there are seldom more than 20% of the machines in use.
They’re fun, inclusive, and challenging. I appreciate the very early workouts to get my day started, but wish there were more in the 6a-7a time frame.
I like that you're open! It's a great facility and great membership. A pleasant environment helps so much with the drudgery of exercise.
Great staff and instructors
Good variety of classes and equipment. Very good instructors and trainers available. Good value for a family.
I like that the staff seems to care about the YMCA's members.
The barre classes
Friendly and clean and well maintained. I wish some members, particularly the younger ones, would not play on their cell phones in the exercise room especially when they are simply sitting on the machines, oblivious to other members waiting to use those machines. Sign of the times I guess
Yoga classes are good and pool is very clean. I like the fact that f I can sign up for a lane in the pool.
Swimming and workout machines
Group exercise classes. Although there are not many group cycling classes in the 8:30 to 10:00 time zone anymore.
variety of classes, good instructors
Easy, friendly, convenient and not terribly expensive
Variety of activities. Courteous helpful staff.
Something for all ages
Variety and quality and the professional nature of the instructors
In general, quality of workout facilities and pool
I hadn't gone to the gym since shutdown but kept paying because (1) if I hadn't had your camps and childcare to lean on throughout my son's early childhood, I would have gone crazy and (2) you all helped parents during COVID, especially that first year. I was able to work from home but as a single mom, I appreciated that.
What do I like? Soccer for my son, and your location, vibe, service, and equipment at the gym for me. I might take a yoga class at some point, too. Oh, and you don't blast pop music at your gym, which I don't mind THAT much but I'd rather not have it.
I used the track recently (while my husband was having a treatment at Emory). It was a great way to de-stress for awhile. We are members of the Fowler YMCA in Peachtree Corners. It's so nice to have the benefit of using the facilities of any YMCA when needed. My close friend is a longtime member of the Decatur YMCA and loves that Y and the classes offered.
This Y is very friendly and folks tend to know each other more, I have the feeling, than at other branches, perhaps because the building is not really large. I like to come in and use the machines upstairs.
I haven't found any classes I've wanted to join in a while, but I have in the past enjoyed Body Pump. The folks at the machines are very helpful whenever I have asked for assistance with any of them.
I haven't done any of the programs or activities but my husband and daughter like to go to the classes. I just go to the weight room and use the cardio machines and the weights. They are good machines and the weights are fine.
The summer camps
Good water aerobics instructors.

The facility is clean and accessible and the staff is friendlyand welcoming.
