I like the youth soccer schedule with one weekday practice and one Saturday morning game.
My two children really enjoyed the volleyball program. There is a strong focus on sportsmanship and skill acquisition. The league is competitive without being unwelcoming to new players. It was a great experience all around.
positivity
Family involvement and team building for the kids rather than a focus on competitiveness.
I love the focus on fun rather than winning with the team sports. Volleyball was the perfect pace and introduction to team sports for our 8 year old.
We love the family-friendly atmosphere!
Numerous programs and activities.
Friendly atmosphere, child care option, and price point.
I have been a member for almost 30 years. I love the wide range of community members that vary in age, ability, ethnicity and their varied interests for the many choices available of classes, work-outs and personal trainers that help members build and maintain active and strong bodies and minds! Also when unforeseen challenges occur that hamper our physical or mental abilities, there are plenty of caring and well trained staff and programs to help accommodate and assist disabilities of all types.
I like the 2 story lay out. I like the year round pool. Altho I've been there just once to take grandkids to a class I'm hoping to actually participate in something there
Great outdoor pool. And it’s not too busy.
Workout machines and lap swimming.
I only do yoga, but I love all the classes I attend.
The thing I love most about the Y is the cleanliness. The crew is always working to keep it clean.
Great classes with variety!
My daughter loves volleyball. The gym is nice and we loved our team mates and coach.
Great team building, all kids are involved, builds self-esteem in my child. Really enjoyed learning n competing.
My daughter really loves the volleyball program at the Y.
The coaches are AMAZING and the games are so well run. We did have issues with basketball however in that the boys pretty much refused to pass the ball to our girls. It was very frustrating and the coach handled the best he could, but I think it would be much better if you offered girls-only basketball option. Also, I would say no stealing until they are much older. At 9, they are still learning to just dribble the ball and stealing is demotivating.
Otherwise, LOVED the coaches and the refs and love the YMCA so very much!
Thanks,
Suzanne
The YMCA is a great environment to introduce a sport to a child.
It's a very friendly environment and they make it very easy for kids to learn a new sport and have fun.
Great positive experience for our kiddo being introduced to soccer for the first time. We loved the teamwork pledge and the focus on cheering for both teams/ all kids participating.
We have had great luck with having patient parent coaches this past year in soccer and basketball. Also my son's teammates have been kind and there is usually not an overly competitive vibe. I like the skills clinics at the beginning of the season as a refresher too.
Love the volleyball program - would love to have some more clinics between the seasons to keep the kids going and uping their skills.
Friendly staff, welcoming facilities, great teammates and parents! We love Mike at the Southwest Y.
It’s a great way to introduce your kids to teams sports - just the right amount of organization, encouragement and commitment for the beginner. We love the Y staff and appreciate the patience and generosity of all the volunteer coaches.
Inclusive for all skill levels. Only wish the seasons were a bit longer. Just when the teams start to really gel, it’s over.
Laid back, well organized, affordable
Very kind and helpful staff at YMCA
Super friendly staff and members! The facility is clean, the pool is amazing, and the equipment is great! I've enjoyed the few classes I have been to and will be joining more activities soon!

The kids are so kind and friendly and very family focused sports!
