My daughter HATES math. It’s even very difficult to help her with her homework because she is so resistant. We thought we would give Mathnasium a try. We made an appointment for her to be assed. My daughter had a very wonderful experience with Min giving the assessment, so much, that it’s the reason I’m driving to alameda now, (instead of the Rockridge location that is close to us) she enjoys math a little more now, and I hope it continues. It’s been about a month so far. And So far so good!!

My daughter and I both want her to get through the material faster so she can catch up to grade level. She attends on average 3 times a week, and with her schedule it's difficult to get there more often. Can she be assigned homework?

I love that my child can get homework help. It was a source of conflict and the program keeps her sharp on numbers.

My daughter love it

I appreciate how helpful it has been or my daughter to fill in holes in her mathematical foundation so she can be stronger with her grade level math.

I would like assessments when moving on to the next level of topics be shorter (possibly cut into three chunks). Students can take several months to move through the curriculum, and by the time they reach the second half of their plan, they might have already learned many content standards outside of Mathnasium. It's also hard for students who struggle with math or who have learning or or attention challenges to maintain focus or an hour+ long assessment, so the assessment results themselves aren't always accurate (as per my daughter's experience and some of her friends).

Shorter assessments with shorter learning plans would make sure that the student's learning plan only focuses on what they don't know at the time they reach it in their plan. Rather than including what they lost attention and focus on during the assessment, or what they already learned in school or outside of Mathnasium by the time they reached it in their Mathnasium program.

Mathnasium’s approach has helped our son gain some confidence in his math skills. He really enjoys going (although he still prefers soccer if he had to choose😉) to his hour of tutoring. Thank you for the opportunity!

Happy kid, happy parents = win win situation. Right off the bat, my 11 year old looks forward to attending week after week after week. Mathnasium really motivates him to work hard. Not only is he thrilled about solving Math problems, he is also very thankful for those aha! moments and learning different ways to solve problems faster and more accurately. Within the first weeks of Mathnasium, he reports back proudly that he learning different methods of problem solving! Mathnasium gives me the peace of mind with the excellent, friendly staff and the consistent, perpetual learning experience.

We love how caring you are with our kids, how you take the time to explain concepts to them until they understand and how you help them with their homework.

Enjoy that we can just drop our child off during operating hours without an appointment or prior notice. It is also great that the staff can teach our youngster the mechanics of mathematics, and provide occasional rewards once she has reached a milestone or mastery check. Our child has also gained more confidence when completing math assignments at school, which is all we can ask for. Thanks for providing such a wonderful facility!
