Well organized and easy going with kids
I love that my children have a youth program near the school they go to and have friends from their school in the program. The hours, staff friendliness, communication, and activities they do are perfect. Breakfast, lunch, and snack provided are also a huge relief for me as a parent.
Our family had to drive out to Schertz from Bulverde for lessons (they were the closest ones we could find that met our summer schedule), so it was a bit of a haul. But, I really felt like it was worthwhile, and I really appreciated the YMCA instructor my son had. Please give him a big kudos. He was positive, kind, but firm when he needed to be (and my son needs that redirection sometimes).
My son had been going to one of the local swim schools twice/week for about 9 months this past year, and I just felt like he wasn't really progressing the way he should be. I liked the Y's swim program because he seemed to progress a lot faster than he was at the swim school.
Our experience was so positive that I just signed him up for Level 4. Thankfully, we found a closer YMCA location for that one. Thanks!
Our instructor took time to teach all of the students all four swim strokes and diving. He was patient and very positive. After the session, he provided feedback to families.

Love that there's a pool; wish it could be open year- round since my husband likes to swim for exercise.
I haven't utilized anything else personally, since I have a (I'll admit) weird distaste /"phobia" of gyms. But super glad it's close, and I like knowing that it's a safe place to put my child, if I ever do use any of the other amenities.
It was great to be able to afford swim lessons for my son (3) and daughter (13)! The instructors (Rachel, at Schertz and Matthew at Schertz pool) was fantastic!
I like how the classes are small which allows there to be more focus on each student individually when necessary.
All the instructors took their time with my baby . Even though she was scared they used different methods to help her learn . Nobody was mean or impatient and built trust with her.

Parent child class was a great opportunity to gain confidence in the water for baby and help teach parents games to play with baby. I would love there to be more songs and activities done as a group. The bathrooms at this facility need to be cleaned more thoroughly.

Page was great with my 3 year old. He had fear of the water but now loves it. She respected his time and gently got him to the point to go under water. He is excited to go to swim with her.

The private swim lessons are just what my daughter needed. Not only did she have a great time with her Instructor but she also improved a lot in just 4 classes!
Very flexible and staff are so helpful and knowledgabe with the exercise machines.
I like my daughter’s basketball team and coach. The one thing I would change is for the kids to have another day of practice. Even if it was on Friday evening or something. 30min of practice right before the game is not enough. They need more learning time.

We love that the staff and volunteers are friendly and patient with the kiddos. The park and YMCA grounds are kept clean and there are many activities to choose from.
