Client Testimonials
JP is the best yoga teacher I have ever had - I also really like the girl who assists him in the class. I release soo much during and following his class it is like therapy lol. I still have to make it to one of Michelle's classes and looking forward to that. I love the spirituality of studio and how everyone gets along really well. All the other teachers are great too.
Shawna led a thoughtful class with unique sequences that worked my entire body...definitely worth the drive from Burlington!!! ❤❤
friendly, clean, and organized
Always very nice and polite
Consistently good classes regardless of the teacher
Your amazing instructors.
Beautiful studio, nice and clean, great teachers.
One thing I didn't like, I rented a yoga mat, I don't really like the lululemon yoga mat, the rented mat felt old and it didn't feel like it was clean.
Your classes are wonderful! All of your teachers are incredibly skilled and clearly pour so much heart and effort into their teaching. I love getting hands on assists. And the community is great. I've been to so many studios in Toronto and Ahimsa is by far my favourite.
The energy is clear, down to earth and real. I've been to a lot of studios so far in Toronto over the past 2 yrs and this is by far my favorite. My class at 7:30 this past Monday was so great. The teacher was exemplifying the same non ego, safe and light energy that I had to tell her about at the end of class because she should know what she is doing is different in the ways I've explained from many others. Honestly all my teachers so far have been great and it feels like coming home when I walk into your studio. So thanks for showing me another side of Toronto that I will always be grateful for.
Seriously!
I recommend you about weekly to someone. I tell them that in my experience of having gone to perhaps 10-15 different yoga studios in the GTA, that Ahimsa (and two others) are the only ones where I have found teachers with extensive teaching experience.
I like that there is a core platform on which to develop a practice and that no two classes are alike - giving freedom to explore subtleties in different aspects of the practice.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting.
On the "growing edge" side, I find something weird about all yoga studios in Toronto. Given the open, expensive nature of the practice I would expect a strong community build among the students. But most students keep to themselves. Walk in, drop their mat, do their practice, and leave, with not much more than a hello ... perhaps. So, some yoga practice that fosters greater awareness of the impact each of us has on the others in community would be most welcome.
But on the whole, a solid 10. :)
variety of levels and times offered. Clean, well lit space. Shauna is very respectful, empathetic and clear in her teaching. Nice to have two washrooms and a shower, change room and a place to store my mat.
Excellent teachers, clean and friendly studio, a mix of challenging sequences and slower, more mindful movement. One of my favourite studios in the city!
the teachers are incredible ! The atmosphere . I feel at home and i can be who i am without being judged :)
The only minor detail to comment is where the toilets are located. there aren't toilets at the reception area or in an area that you have to cross the studio ... not the best scenario ..but as i mention , a super minor detail...nothing to comment regarding the class or teachers or ambient ..just complements !.. all perfect to me :)
Comfortable space great teachers
The classes are great and all different,, teachers are amazing especially Shawna, JP, and Elke. I just started doing yoga regularly in January. Ahimsa has made me want to stick with it. Can't say I've had as good of an experience anywhere else in the city yet. You guys rule. Your passion, and attention to detail is an inspiration.

I have really liked your instructors - they are very chill. Ahimsa is the first yoga space that I have felt comfortable in
I think the space is nice.
It's tough as it isn't huge but a few couches near the front or a place to sit and talk out front would be nice. Having some tea would be great.
I really love the teachers you bring in. That's mostly why I go.
restorative yoga
Very warm and welcoming staff, and an excellent instructor!
Everything
Welcoming vibe, challenging classes, skilled & authentic teachers, community feel, great location. The real deal.
The teachers are the best in Toronto!! Sharene is an amazing manager. Efficient and welcoming.
The vibe of the studio, the continuity of teachers on the schedule as much as possible, the variety of types of teachers and classes , the love and community of the sacred space. i liked the no mirrors!
Amazing teachers who with great care assist the yogi to work within their body to further their own practise. They work at teaching the involvement of the mind and spirit simultaneous with the physical practise. It is the place to go if u wish to deepen your practise and knowledge of the while yoga experience.
The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, the instructors are great.
I like that its not all about the fitness aspect of the yoga it includes the spiritual aspect of it as well. Which makes me really happy really connecting the mind body and soul
Friendly, warm environment. Welcoming. An emphasis on spirituality together with the adana practice
excellent teaching
I love the quality of the instruction at Ahimsa. My yoga practise has made a lot of progress since I started attending classes there.
I feel that the experience and the culture at a studio starts at the top, and JP and Michelle have built a community that is healthy (in more ways that just physically) and empowering. They are exceptional teachers, mentors, and people, and that really shows in the experiences I have had at Ahimsa with them and with the other students and teachers.
