I hired Highland Home Inspections to complete an inspection of a residential property I am in the process of purchasing. As a first time home buyer, I wanted to make sure that I had peace of mind when I move in, so I attempted to seek out the most thorough inspection service I could find, looking at online reviews and local forums discussing buyer's perspectives on home inspections and interviewing a number of local companies. J.D. Pyle came highly recommended on reddit, google reviews, and yelp, so I knew I wanted him to inspect my home.
I spoke with Debbie from the Highland offices. She was extremely helpful and informative over the phone, and was able to answer all of my questions about the inspection process, scheduling my inspection with J.D. that same week. On the day of inspection, I was thoroughly impressed with how experienced, helpful, and thorough J.D. was. We walked through every corner, nook, and cranny of the home’s interior and exterior together, and J.D. explained everything I needed to know, taking the time to give me all of the details I was looking for. I learned a ton of valuable information about the property I would be purchasing, and got some great tips for planning and maintenance of my new home.
The report was equally as thorough, including detailed summaries of each issue, pictures, and recommendations for next steps. I wanted to work with an inspector who would identify and document absolutely everything, and J.D. a comprehensive and exhaustive report did not disappoint. The report was detailed and also included pre-closing inspection list and a home maintenance list.
One thing that would be great at the end is a summary list of recommended repairs grouped by item (plumbing, electrical...etc) and next to each line item (location/room)
