My kids have truly benefited from Mathnasium in a huge way. By the end of their school years last year, both of them had very high marks according to California standards. Yet, what I appreciate about Mathnasium is that the benchmark is based mostly on international standards. Given the cuts in public education, the lack of resources to schools and teachers and the large classrooms, let's face it -- students are not being served to compete as mathematicians. We believe that math is not just critical to doing well at math. Math is integral to logic, critical thinking and analysis, problem solving and understanding symmetry and elegance.

The teachers at Mathnasium have been very generous with their support. The staff is highly skilled. And the incentives for achievement are good, although we'd suggest maybe a little les sugar on the rewards!

Perfect place if you want a Math engagement experience for your kids.

My child started about 2 months ago and I have noticed her motivation to improve while attending Mathnasium. I was anticipating having to do a fair amount of encouraging her to stick with it, but that hasn't been necessary. She is eager to attend her sessions and likes to tell me about what she accomplished. Her confidence seems to be improving. I'm really proud of her and I appreciate the effort of the Albany staff to make her feel comfortable while still challenging her in mathematics. We will continue to work through the summer and I'm looking forward to her feeling more confident at school in the Fall.

My son is engaged in the program. Having the skills broken down into small parts allows him to celebrate lots of small wins along the way. I appreciate the updates for when each skill is mastered and the monthly review of where he's at and where he's headed.

Our son started Mathnasium in the middle of his 4th grade year after having been assessed as having significant gaps in his math knowledge. He had not yet mastered some 2nd grade key concepts. 1 year later (now in 5th grade) he is far exceeding even 5th grade standards and he is loving math. He loves Mathnasium and their approach has really resonated with him. Even though he no longer “needs” the additional support he still really wants to keep going.

Enjoy this program as a way to enhance math skills. Allows students to work at their own pace. Really allowed my daughter who had a fear of math gain confidence which was very important to me.
