My daughter loves coming to Sylvan. The teachers are very friendly and helpful. I also like how updates I am kept on all of her progress.

When I paid for your company to work with my son (Tutor) for is ACT the workers did not help him or work with him one bit they gave him a book and chair ..... I will definitely share my thoughts with numerous parents and families in the community and not give you good feed back one but complete waste of money and not only did he not do better in his ACT from the practice one he did worse so yes Complete waste of time and money !!!!
Karri contacted Sylvan a month before the ACT test, we signed her son up to take our practice test that Saturday, he did not show up. We called the following week and were able to reschedule him for the following Saturday. His test results indicated a reading deficiency. We informed Karri that he would require significantly more help than our Bootcamp could provide but given the time restraint she opted to sign him up for the bootcamp anyway. Our full ACT prep program is approximately 30 hours of instruction. She sscheduled him up for the 4 hours on the week before the test, he was 20 mins late to the first hour and did not show up for the last hour. The strategies for the reading section of the test are to 'mark up' passages and in math he struggled with story problems, working on both of these areas requires a lot of reading. Of the homework that he was assigned, he completed 9% of the English and 16% of the Math, none of the Reading or Science. I have tried reaching out to Karri but she has not returned my voicemails.
I like that they accommodate the student - they have specialized instruction plans if needed, but also just offer homework help, which is what my daughter goes there for. They are very accommodating when we need to switch a day around or add a day that was not planned. They are able to coordinate with the teachers at the school, and that helps with being prepared for tests.
Results! Alex has made great progress in reading and math. He was found to not be at grade level for his age. Since starting at Sylvan, he now is close to grade level and continues to make progress. I don't think he would have come as far has without Sylvan.

I feel we are still in the early stages of my son working with Sylvan to learn & incorporate better study habits. I’m continuing to look for signs of how Matthew should be incorporating strategies, skills, techniques at school and home.
It will be nice to follow school syllabus.

You guys are very organized and keep parents updated as per progress
So far my granddaughter is doing well, which is the most important part. Aside from that, making scheduling changes has been extremely easy, and I’m always greeted with a smile.
The rigor of studies helped our daughter prepare for her SAT well, The reviews were extremely helpful.
Mainly I wish there was more locations. I have to drive approximently 45 minutes to get to Sylvan's and during the school year it makes it difficult since the kids don't get home till 4pm then 45 minutes there and hour tutoring and 45 minutes home.
They keep you informed about the students progress.

You keep sending me emails even though I have repeatedly told you that you are sending them to the wrong email address. I've never used Sylvan but based on dozens of annoying emails over multiple years despite responding at least seven times to tell you it's the wrong email I have to say that anytime anyone mentions Sylvan I will regale them with my story of woe and tell them to look elsewhere unless they are interested in a company that fails to respect the privacy of it's actual clients by sending private information to the wrong email. By the way, in case you haven't figured it out yet, you sent this to the wrong email.

My son has received help for Math with Zoey and we appreciate the assistance. I think it’s important to search for the right communicator so that your student can come away from the experience with a positive result.

My son is about 6 weeks into his tutoring program with Sylvan. Honestly, I could see an improvement within a few weeks. Sessions are brief, so my son doesn't get frustrated easily. I am very satisfied with my son's progress so far. My son really enjoys his sessions as well.
I absolutely love it!!!! All of them in Midland go above and beyond to help these kids. I can't thank them enough. It seems they'll just do anything that it takes to teach these kids what they need to know. Thank you again!!! 😊
