Member Testimonials
I am really impressed at the facility and I have recommended it to many of my friends.
Friendly staff. Open hours.
I like the members and staff, an excellent group of people and a variety of exercise opportunities.
I sincerely like everything! I've been a member since this branch opened, and I continue to come because it's always an enjoyable experience. The facility is always clean and bright. Employees are friendly and helpful. There's such a good variety of activities that I can lift weights one day, ride a bike another, use the elliptical or soak in the hot tub. I'm sure you hear the same things from other members, but it's true.
Always clean and the staff the best in the Northland!
The employees behind the desk are great!
Please consider expanding the weekend hours.

Everyone must join these Classes.
Friends people and good instructors.
Friendly staff
Facility is clean.
Equipment is well maintained
I enjoy working out and seeing friends
I play Pickleball at this facility most weekdays. It would be nice if the staff would do a few things every day to prepare the gym for our use:
1. Close the window blinds
2. Raise the basketball goals
3. Set up the nets (and cardboard fence)
4. Ask any basketball players to please leave the court at our start time
The staff is always welcoming and helpful at the front desk. But, they stay at the desk even though they know we are coming in to play every day at the same time. If they don't want to set up the nets, at the very least they should be expected to close the blinds, raise the BB goals up to a reasonable height & clear the courts.
Most of the instructors are super prepared in a variety of classes.
Good location, convenient hours
I like the community feel.
I would like to see hours earlier on sundays.

What I benefit from most from Platte County Community Center South is in its name, community. From the friendly staff that look after my infant to the patrons all good people to the last.
I love the pool at the Parkville Y - especially now that they have upgraded the lighting.

THEIR TRUE FOCUS ON HEALTH AND FITNESS FOR THE ELDERLY AND THOSE IN NEED AS DESCRIBED BELOW. Stay Fit, Stay Young. No matter what your age.
The separate warm water pool and water classes (especially taught by Jackie) that really focus on beneficial and targeted exercises to help those that can no longer do land-based work outs and want to stay in shape. People are driving from other parts of town, just to join her classes and to use our warm water pool, so they don't over stress the joints/muscles. The typical lap pools are too cold to be beneficial for this need.
Many people taking these classes are doing some form of rehabilitation or are mid age and up to in their 90's. Instructor Jackie treats everyone with respect and focuses on what people need to keep their joints and muscles in shape. Most importantly, since Jackie as an instructor is also >70 years old, and she gets in the water doing the same exercises all through the class, she is an INSPIRATION to all. She really gets it and feels what we feel, and knows what it takes to stay healthy as an aging adult.
Interesting to note: I've seen a few younger people come and go. They first think it's too easy, but in fact, have trouble keeping up! You find they aren't really there for a workout and soon move to the jazzercise class where they can just shake their body without much purpose to music and socialize.
