Friendly, fast, good haircut

I've never cared one bit about getting a hair cut.

Then I came based on a promotion handed out during Pride Festival. Kudos to you for supporting their cause by the way!

I cannot say I was too into the idea of going to a hair place targeting sports enthusiasts. The thought of some place that dolled out pro sports and standard hair cuts. Not that I assume all sports lover are like this, in fact quite the opposite. It's that other sports style hair cutters are generally sub par. Lots of bells and whistles but when it comes down to it. It's a rather empty and lacking place that usually has hair dressers that are no different than any other.

Then I went to the location on Wonderland Rd. London, Ontario.....

Wow! Aside from the typical sports theme, I also found a vibe of hair care for men. You see there is a growing popularity for men to have more fashionable and styled beards. Usually requiring men to go online and aquire product themselves or go to some fancy place that only sells top priced products.

After getting passed the sporty redness that blasts you on the way in, I quickly was welcomed to my chair. Comfortable, stylish. Still sport themed but a hint of class. I was impressed.

Then the hair cut began. Within seconds, my hair dresser, Claire was quickly identifying the style I had. Not a common one. Something a bit modern but different. To my surprise, she not only identified what I was going for but addressed the mistakes ALL other hair dressers before her had made. They just couldn't get it right even though it was a simple style. You see, unlike the many others in town, only the real classy and high priced hair dressers really knew what was going on as far as men's fashion went. Claire and her associate though..... they are on point!

In minutes my style was finished and she had managed to give me a trim I had never had before. It was absolutely spot on! Then to give me the MVP option due to the promotion and I was hooked. I'm officially using your location for my cuts.

The price is on par with standard hair dressers but the quality.... is that of a really expensive treatment from a more specialized location.

To top it all off. You sell men's products for personal shaving and beard care. It can be hard to find these products and often they can be gimmicky at best. The prices being well within acceptable ranges.

Seriously.... where have you guys been all these years?!?!?

One thing to note. I am not a very sporty person. I work in IT and London is a major source of career driven IT people. One that grows every day. Everything from marketers and business related people also intermingle within this category as well. The thing is, many of us are not the sport types. Sure we play them and many of us are big on the gym and getting fit. Still, the sports part is rather insignificant. Coming from a background where that whole sport stereotype just feels like it comes from a very niche group of people now. Honestly, I was reluctant to come just based on the sports theme alone. It has a bad vibe to it as all of your predecessors have created this negative view toward it. If you adapted the style and theme to something more along the lines of "Men's Hair Care." Something that denotes, that you cater to men who seek to improve their look instead. You may find a much larger target as many of us are dying for a solid place to go to.

Well not I of course. I stumbled upon you and I will be suggesting you to everyone I know. In fact I already have and will tell you most of my colleagues laughed when I suggested it, until I told them what services you offer and the treatment I received. Now they are already heading down today to go see what all the fuss is about. See if it is true that your not really just another sports hair dresser.

I know this is long but I really wish to explain the value of your business and it's potential.

I’m giving a rating of 10 based on past experiences which is why I keep coming back. Overall, I do recommend friends/co-workers to give Sport Clips a shot. That being said, tonight’s isolated experience would get a rating of 2 or 3. I am satisfied w/ the haircut itself, but everything else was a disappointment.
-I was asked what I wanted for haircut up front and that was the only conversation until ¾ of the way through the haircut. At that point she asked if I wanted to finish up w/ a wash. I informed her that I’d actually like to purchase another season’s pass for the MVP hair cuts if they are still available of which she informed me that they absolutely could be purchased (she forgot all about this request when it came time to ring it. Yes I could have reminded her but I thought based on how the haircut went, If she can’t even remember that I’ll let someone else sell it to me next time – assuming there is some sort of commission or employee kick back)
-the lack of conversation isn’t terrible in and of itself, however in the past I’ve typically been turned towards the tv which tonight was not the case
-the combination of rings and finger nails digging into my head the entire process was extremely off-putting.
-on 2 distinct occasions I felt like skin was taken off with the clippers as it dug into my neck and behind my ear. She even asked the one time if I was ok as it made me jump
-it felt like with every stroke of the clippers they were somewhat dropped against my head versus nicely used
-the warm towel covered my nose to the point of where I had to breathe through my mouth. I could imagine to some this would be extremely uncomfortable
-the towel fell off onto the floor in transition from the sinks in the back to the chair, and the lady simply picked it back up and brought it back over tucking it into my shirt, proceeding w/ the massage
-I came in wearing a hat, left it on her counter with all the clippers and things, and without asking she put a bunch of hair gel/pasted in – seemed odd she didn’t even ask if I wanted any product in my hair

I understand a lot of these things are minor on their own and borderline petty. I thought since PJ suggested I fill out the online survey though, that it only fair to let you know how I actually felt. I am in no way filling this out looking for a free haircut or compensation (as mentioned I’ll be back as typically I’ve been very happy). As a business owner myself , I simply thought I’d take the time to give some honest feedback of my experience.

I really enjoyed the whole experience. Honestly one of the best haircut I have recieved in a long time! Thank You
