He sent me the report within the same hour as completion, & discussed it w/ me after I had a chance to go over it. He was strongly recommended to us by friends whose judgement I value. Dave is thorough and very open to and available to all the clients questions, he is very patient with them and takes as much time with them as needed. He also makes sure that they know they are clients of his and have access to him for as along they own the house.

Not impressed with the service provided.
Firstly, the person that performed the inspection showed up an hour late because "I live an hour away". The person that performed the inspection was not presentable or knowledgeable and had a very unpleasant odor. Any question that was asked was responded with "the answer will be on the report".
The report took 14 business days to be received, not the 10 working days as promised by the person performing the inspection.
The report suggests things that have already been completed prior to the inspection. Example, Replace ALL windows and doors, even though 2 of the 4 doors have been replaced in the last year, along with 4 of the total 17 windows have been replaced in the last year. I will not be replacing things that have been recently replaced just to quality for a small government grant.
Add basement insulation - The basement is already fully insulated with R-25.
Insulate exposed floors - already insulated with R-25
Increase Attic insulation from R-12 to R-50 - how can this be suggested when the person that performed the inspection did not go into the Attic?
Replace Furnace and Water Heater with ones that are 92% efficient or higher - the Furnace and Water Heater are already Energy Star Certified at 95% each and are less than 10 years old.
Upgrade Air Conditioner to Energy Star Certified - Already have in the last 10 years(replaced with furnace)
"site visit and calculation findings" section is mentioned in the comments numerous times, but this section does not exist in the report.
So from this report, the only things that can be performed that will qualify for the government grant is 1. Increase Attic insulation(questionable), and 2. Perform air sealing.
All in all, we are not impressed by the "copy and paste" report. The fee charged is outrageous for what was performed. I could have easily provided the number of windows and doors and a floor plan, along with pictures of the furnace and water heater for your "calculations", instead of sending someone. The only thing "special" that was performed was the "air sealing" test, but that does not take into account the amount of leakage from the door the device was attached to.
Very impressed with the information provided to us from our energy audit. Steve was vary through and explained everything that we need to do to achieve the r values we want for our home. Thanks again
