In my opinion, your salesman proposed work that was much larger than the repair required and very costly. My adult son who owns his own house had the same opinion. Sort of surprised since you were referred by Home Advisor - perhaps their referral service is not as good as touted. I do not think that the position of having to bring something into current code when it was originally constructed to code is required.
Extremely expensive and pricing that becomes higher if you wait to use their services.

Up front estimates. No pushy sales. Available financing
Once the PM saw the size of our kitchen, he was very disengaged. We were never asked our budget, possible financing options,etc. We weren’t even showed selections of cabinets.
He gave me the impression he did not want to work with us. Will not use or recommend the company. In fact, I will discourage friends/family to use the company.
No just not in our price range
They quoted me way too high than other contractors.

The project manager wasn't detailed in his description of the jobs, i.e, if he would be using rebar, mesh, what would be used to break up the top, how much psi the concrete would be etc.
Lastly quote was to high.

The person that came out did not seem prepared. My appointment was 2:30-4:30 and he showed up after 5pm. He didn’t take time to give details on design options in terms of the project. He couldn’t give a firm number but a huge estimated price. No book to show me the work that you all do.
The price was more than I wanted to invest.
Your price was very high. The person come in was not ready to go shite. I did not see any special thanks add. I found another company working with me.
