Member Testimonials
It has a fairly complete suite of services.
It uses Silver Sneakers.
It has fairly long hours of operation.
It is big on community support.
Friendly and relaxed atmosphere with great teachers.
It’s generally a place where you feel accepted and respected. However, last week I was riding one of the training spin bikes and was approached by a man who bullied and harassed me. He said that he was one of personal trainers and told me to”get off the bike” because he needed it for a class. I only had 6 mins left for my training session. I told him No and to talk to the front desk and he stated that they would still tell me to “get off the bike”. I told him No again, and not to talk to me that way, and that it was his problem if they over registered for the class and hadn’t arranged for enough bikes for it. I’ve just had cancer surgery for the second time. Earlier someone was reading on the same bike so I tried a recumbent bike that caused pain in my torso. The other bikes were out of order or being used, he told me to use a recumbent bike instead, and I again I said NO. He also said that people in his class had “paid good money for the class and needed the bike”. He obviously was lying because group classes at the Y are free for members. After I finished, I reported him and the incident to the Y director who apologized. This harassment is unacceptable.
Staff facilities
It allows the free membership via my Medicare plan, so I can maintain my tai chi practice.
Facility and quality of equipment.
Location, number of classes and generally not crowded.
I support the YMCA because this organization serves the general public and does keep the facility affordable for the 'common man'.
In addition, I appreciate the maintenance of the facility and the great up-dates of the newest exercise equipment.
Convenient location and ease in signing up for classes.
Friendly staff, great instructors, convenient location.
Facility is clean, nice assortment of machines and weights. Staff are friendly.
Excellent range of equipment in the gym, nice staff, great trainers, good range of classes. Swimming pool is perfect with small children though admittedly a bit hot if you're swimming hard.
I love the warm water pool at the boulder YMCA. Best swimming experience and rarely overcrowded!
Wonderful people and mission.
1) It’s close to home
2) I like my personal trainer
Everything.
Homey, convient, has what i need.
The staff, classes and ease of signing up for classes.
Convenient, great personal trainers, and love the warm pool!!
The Y offers tremendous services at a very reasonable price. Most of the classes are offered free as a part of your membership, and I have always found the instructors to be skilled, dedicated to their area of expertise, and genuinely kind people. The athletic equipment and facilities are top notch and well maintained. It is a wonderful way for children to be exposed to a variety of sports for a very reasonable fee. And the fact that they offer scholarships to those who cannot afford youth classes or summer camps is a service you can’t get from a private health club. Our grown son participated in the Boulder Valley Y’s before and after school daycare program at Superior Elementary, and to this day he remembers CHRR - Caring, Honesty, Character and Responsibility. The Y promotes being a good person over the personal glory of being “the best.” He loved summer camps such as Y-Riders — riding his bicycle through the community while learning safety and maintenance skills, culminating in an overnight bike camping excursion to Carter Lake. I watched him gain self-confidence, grow and mature under his counselors. I have been part of a Y-Family for 70 years: it was an integral part of my wholistic upbringing, was an integral part of my son’s upbringing. and I wish to see the tradition continue for other families. I always tell people the Y is the best bang for your buck gem in the community.
The staff works tirelessly to make sure every kid has fun playing basketball!
I'm glad to go swimming most days I want to, and also lift weights at the YMCA, and there are several in the larger area.
Good variety of updated equipment. Helpful staff. Good pickleball court schedule.
I really like this facility and think that it is the best gym in Boulder. The men's locker room could use some improvement, though. The sinks are infuriating! The faucet is so close to the back wall of the sink that it is difficult to wash your hands without running up against the dirty back wall of the sink. Two out of the three faucets have almost no water flow, making it frustrating to rinse all the soap off.
thanks
good job!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE this place!
The space is physically more "open" than the North Boulder Rec Center.
And the guests are just "friendlier" and more relaxed. Staff is friendly too.
And there is often a trainer around to answer any questions.
The Pilates classes are MUCH less expensive than anywhere else.
And the pool is perfect for PT. Such a gift to have a warm water pool.
Clean, great machines, friendly and helpful staff.
A human being answers the phone with NO MENU, and they are always pleasant, helpful, and kind.
It's a small-ish facility, parking is easy (if I lived closer I would be there much more).
I joined the Y in 1980 and remained a member for 22 years until I moved. I swim or use the exercise room there when I find myself in Boulder. The Boulder YMCA has so many memories for me, from when I came there several times a week with friends and family now gone. We all loved it.
Thank you.
A very fine /clean Health Center.Staff is very pleasant.
Enjoy visiting the center for my exersices x 4 days a week.

The facility is top notch and the community is welcoming and warm.
