If you could add a sauna and treadmills that go negative incline then I'd rate you an 11!
I like the equipment and that there are some open spaces arge enough for comfortable group activities.
I enjoy my personal workout with no interruptions from the staff. The facility is a great atmosphere.
The customer service is amazing. The atmosphere is great.
Love this facility, staff is knowledgeable and fun to interact with. This gym works really hard to keep equipment and environment clean. This Y offers lots of good trainers and classes.
We workout here 5-6 days a week. Love Lester and Sherman!
Overall I like everything about this location.
However my one complaint is that the new ymca app, did away with the tracking of work outs. For example I can now no longer look at my monthly miles etc. Removing that feature seems short sighted for a gym.
HOWEVER it gets worse, I was informed “just to log into the matrix machines (which I do) and those will track my mileage”.
Unfortunately to be able to see this data on the Matrix app the user has to know the facility ID code (on the matrix site). I have asked at different times to 5 different employees (over months now) what the code is (so I can track my progress). Each one said they find out. Nobody has ever followed up.
I just gave up asking.
THAT lack of follow up for a regular customer, is weak sauce.
Clean, friendly, and assortment of classes are offered
Great Staff!
The comfort of the equipment, the curtesy of the staff and the friendliness of the atmosphere.
I love that although CrossFit was cancelled, the instructor stayed to teach a just as great boot camp. I only wish he could teach Mondays as well.
Always clean and inviting! The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome!
It is the best place of all. The staff members are wonderful. The parking and security are great.
Clean. Great instructors. Friendly desk staff.
I love the Pilates and Barre classes at CHC YMCA. These classes work all areas of the body and I feel accomplished when I leave.
I also enjoy catching rays at the pool! ❤️😎
I like the space, the classes, the staff.
Whenever something breaks or is down, it is down for many months.
Last year several treadmills were down 3-4 months.
Now the main hallway water fountain is out and has been all summer, it may be fixed by Christmas.
When I first joined the Y gym at Crosstown, I was especially grateful for the track, one, because it's too hot to walk outside in the summer, and two, because as a woman I feel safer walking there. Regular walking had long been a part of my health routine, but I found it a little trickier in Memphis (I moved here from NY). Unfortunately, I started having some physical issues which made walking painful, but the gym had a recumbent bike that solved that problem and allowed me to continue regular exercise. I believe the Y has workout options that meet many different needs and goals. Along with that, the facility is kept very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. 5 stars!
Clean, friendly, not too busy
The associates that work there are great
Very good. Great staff. Always clean.
I love it that the place is spotlessly clean. The employees are friendly and helpful. Really like the lockers and feel safe leaving my stuff locked up. Great place to workout.
yoga classes
It very convient. It’s close to where I live.
Cleanliness and temperature. I USUALLY go to fogelman/downtown, but Church Health is managed better.
Friendly staff, lots of equipment
The pool was wonderful this summer. I appreciate that you keep it open for the weekends in September.
Choice of equipment and other exercise options
Choice of group classes (but don't do those usually) but nice to have lots of options
Atmosphere of varying ages/ethniticy/genders/abilities and disabilities. Good to see the 'grey hairs' (of which I am one, and the sleek 20 yo be accommodated at the same venue!
Option of other Y's in city, especially when pool closes
Feel safe
Love Crosstown experience
Like ecumenical approach without evangelizing
Little dislike for rare 'bible' study brochures, but I guess not YMCA for nothing!
Also not open on Sunday am, for same reason as above!
The staff is friendly, the facility is well-equipped and clean. Clients are for the most part respectful.
The place is clean and orderly. Not too crowded first thing in the morning when I go. Staff and members are cordial. High-quality equipment for the most part well-maintained and clean and thoughtfully deployed throughout the space. I love that I can still find my rings there. As an old gymnast this is a huge selling point for me, personally. Hours are convenient, and, of course, I can hike to the gym in 8 minutes from my home in the neighborhood --- a huge amenity.
Not very crowded, lots of equipment, pretty good response from staff on questions, and proximity to home.
