We hired Carson Dunlop to inspect a roughly 9,000 sf custom new-build before firming up our offer, and Gordon was outstanding from start to finish. He gave us nearly 4+ hours on site, worked through every system at his own pace, and never once made us feel rushed. What stood out most was how genuinely patient and welcoming he was with our questions, whether they were basic or deep in the weeds, and how clearly he explained what he was seeing as he went. His attention to detail was exceptional, and he balanced a calm, easy manner with real rigour and craft. The 91-page written report that followed was equally thorough, well organized, and photo-supported, and it gave us tremendous confidence heading into our negotiations with the seller. For a complex luxury home with a lot of custom systems, Carson Dunlop and Gordon specifically were exactly the calibre of inspector we needed, and we would hire them again without hesitation.

Very flexible and quick to schedule a Home Inspection. Inspector was knowledgeable and very descriptive when providing summary of findings on site, and written report was provided same day. Home inspection and report were both thorough and highlighted items of concern concisely, with photos and appropriate cost estimates for repairs (where recommended).
Professional inspector, took the time to explain everything. REASON I AM HESITANT TO RECOMMEND: Carson Dunlop was the only company that required payment days before the inspection. It made me concerned about what level of service I'd receive on the day of. Turned out to be good service, so that was good.
Gord Mathieu was fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable and thorough with his house inspection, taking time to fully explain any issue or concern that needed to be addressed. The final report was also very detailed and helpful. 10/10 would recommend!

The inspector was very friendly and answered some questions, also helpful in showing where main water shutoff and electrical panel were.
