Smelled the rotten egg odor of mercaptans yesterday. Received a prompt response from the technician on duty (a Sunday). He was at our house in less than 20 minutes. He quickly identified the problem as a nearly empty propane tank. Apparently, the mercaptan accumulates at the bottom. In less than an hour, the propane tank was refilled. No stinky odor! I was impressed by the quick resolution of this issue.
