Friendly atmosphere, lots of options
My first time visiting Poyner was very good. I didn’t know there was a YMCA downtown Raleigh. After checking in, with the “Y” closing in ten minutes, I did a quick walkthrough. I came back the next day and did the Hot Yoga class. The ladies were very friendly and helpful with explaining the programs and scheduling. Now I’m on my own schedule going 2-3 times a week at Poyner.
The facility is within walking distance of my house and the staff are very pleasant. I also like the hot yoga studio and classes!

Poyner ymca offers a great place for people living downtown to exercise and socialize. The staff are amazing and the hot yoga is special!

I love going to classes there and the cardio floor always has spaces at the treadmills. It's great that you can also go to any other Y too.

Wow - What a location!
I worked very close many years ago I would've loved to have a YMCA location that close to downtown.
Plus, this location had everything needed to get a solid workout.
The classes are the best - teachers are really good
Best sauna in the entire Triangle. This is the main reason I keep coming back here! Sauna is far superior to all other locations I've seen, both in terms of heat, availability/arrangement of seating, and reliability (i.e. other saunas at other locations tend to be out of order all the time, this one is reliably up and running)
