I love the diversity of people at the YMCA in downtown Durham, different races, ethnicities, genders, ages, body shapes/fitness levels and spirituality. Everyone is welcome there, and people are very friendly. Families are supported with free childcare during visits and lots of opportunities for the children. The older generation has exercise classes that accommodate needs of the aging body. It’s the best of the Durham community.

The DDY has it all - tons of fitness equipment, 2 pools, 2 gyms, classes, etc.

Everything
The staff, instructors, members are all exceptional. Everyone smiles and is very helpful. They have classes to serve everyone. You get to know the members you see in classes or walking on the track. I love to see the young and old kids playing basketball and other sports.
The staff through out are genuine nice people. Love the pool,track and learning to lift weights. It is close to my house. I swim 7 days a week.

It is close to my job, it's part of the YMCA of the triangle allowing me to go to other YMCAs.
I love the indoor pool. The only one I have ever experienced that is actually warm. I just wished the locker room/facilities was cleaner - due to age mostly. I hope the new update includes more family locker rooms.
The community! I've been attending the Downtown Y for over 15 years and it's always felt like home. Now that I'm a cancer survivor my YMCA family is there for me even more.

I like the collabortive envirnoment. This is a great way to get kids to explore what their passions athletically are in s suppportive atomsphere that encourges sportsmanship and building community!
That staff are great and it is not too crowded.
