We visited the new Chatham Park facility this morning during the "soft" opening. On the way there, my youngest daughter (age five) verbalized that she was nervous about being in a different building. Once she and my older daughter stepped into the new Kidzone area, their worries melted away and they were particularly excited about the Foosball table, air hockey table, and the outdoor playground. My older daughter shared that she especially loved the electronic play section of the playground where two players compete by pressing buttons as they light up. I had hoped to see a wider array of equipment at the new facility and was not disappointed. I was pleased to see stair climbing machines, ropes, and a tire. I've been a member for years and have always appreciated the friendliness/responsiveness of the staff. I will miss the "cozy" feeling and the history behind the old building, but I look forward to seeing the Y continue to foster a sense of community and keep pace with our growing neighborhoods.

I actually have not started my workouts but I joined and attended the new facility. One benefit I appreciate is the childcare. It is something I need and without it I would not be able to attend. The new facility is beautiful and offers many options for wellness and exercise. I did visit the current facility. As I’m sure you are aware, it is too small. I know someone who is spatial challenged and would be very uncomfortable in that space. I am grateful that the new facility is coming to life!!! I also appreciate the Kidzone opportunities. I hope there will be cooking classes and other options for the kids to grow in their wellness and exercise at a nominal or zero fee.

Even though the new Chatham Park facility won’t open until March 15th, our joining experience was seamless. Thanks to UHC and Renew Active for making this opportunity available to seniors who want to stay physically active.
