Beautiful facility. Friendly staff.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The facilities from the locker room, to workout room, to basketball court are always clean.
The staff are professional and friendly and there is a wide variety of programs.
Excellent leadership and very functional facilities to work at. Lori Campbell is a force to work with.
availability of a variety of times to play pickleball.
PLEASE, at the NIR gym, please provide a shade over the window -- it presents a very dangerous situation because of the glare. I have witnessed several times people getting hit in the face by a ball because they cannot see -- it's only a matter of time until something very serious happens.
The staff are wonderful and helpful! My son and I love working out at the Nir family YMCA and meeting new people- we are happy to return to this awesome facility!
Strong interpersonal communication across members non members and staff
The Deep Water Aerobics classes are an excellent low-impact workout - plus they are fun! All the teachers are dedicated and nice people.
Many activities/programs
Friendly staff

Love the fitness and yoga classes. The instructors are great.
Great variety of classes, friendly knowledgable instructors and clean facilities!
First, I like that theYMCA is inclusive of everyone, no matter their ethnicity or ability. The instructors are all knowledgeable about the classes they teach. They always notice and encourage first timers to work at their on level and pace. It's a family atmosphere. I also like that there is a Childwatch so parents can have 2 hours to get their work out done.
Enjoy the variety of exercise options for Seniors. The staff and group exercise leaders are excellent and caring. Provide helpful guidance and encouragement.
Love the facility equipment and welcoming staff. They are friendly and very helpful when needed. Many opportunities for family fun and children's exercise programs.
Also, the various 'Challenge' events are great!.
Thank you Mary & Norman Heintz
The employees are kind and considerate and they try to help others!
I like the ability to exercise and refresh my body afterwards. The equipment helps me choose the best option I need to work out for my body to tone my body and loose weight. There is the added option of classes and programs to help make it easier to do what you need to have a better body and mind to live a healthy and longer lifestyle and any age.
great people!
I love how clean it is, the classes offered, the kid zone, and the friendly staff!
Right now I am enjoying playing pickleball.
I like seeing the young (of any age!) playing together, no screens involved!
Everything! Great variety of classes; great instructors; beautiful facility. There's something for everyone--all ages, abilities, and interests. The staff is incredible.
Wide range of exercise options. Friendly staff. Professionally run facilities.
There is nothing I do not like (yet).
We have very likable staff, and it is professionally run!!
Great facilities, especially the updated and refinished 6 lane pool. The personnel are all friendly and knowledgeable with a wonderful variety of classes for every level of fitness. It is the cleanest Y I have ever been in, especially the locker room (women’s). Keep up the great work
I love my Y! It's my home away from home.
I love the variety of classes
The staff is great
The Nir Family YMCA offers everything I need under one roof. Could not ask for more.
About me:
Male (78), Disabled (partial leg paralysis—require use of a Cane), heart disease (CAD & AFIB), chronic/acute back pain (3 Lumbar Fusion Surgeries).
On top of the above challenges, in March ending of 2023, I had knee replacement surgery on my non-paralyzed leg. Due to the importance of this leg in conducting my life—it being called upon to carry the load for my mobility—I decided it prudent to try to build upon my post-surgery Physical Therapy experience. It was clear that more work was needed to be done .So, with my Insurance Carrier (United Healthcare) providing the benefit of free membership to the YMCA, in mid-June I joined.
What a truly impactful decision!
With the great help of early morning Wellness Coaches Dave & John( both no longer there) , both in introducing equipment and encouragement, I settled into a routine with a simple , overarching goal—workout more days than not, every single month.
Using just two of the multitude of equipment resources available—rowing and recumbent elliptical—while steadfastly sticking to my goal, the workouts lengthened and the efficiency grew.
With the first quarter of this year now in the books, 68 of 91 days available (74.7%) I made my way to the “Y”, averaging 1.1 hours of actual workout time per visit. My knee feels totally normal again. My Cardiologist is ecstatic with the regimen and has encouraged me not to change a thing in the workouts, as the anaerobic benefits from the use of above equipment greatly counters my particular heart disease .
There’s so much more that could be written as to how thankful I am for this organization. Already, this response to your survey is much too long. I apologize. But perhaps this one last vignette:
Did you know that there are 19 steps from the Ground to 2nd floor in the YMCA building? When I first began my attendance, I had to take the elevator. As time went by and my leg strengthened, I began using the stairs as part of my workout , but required great caution and holding onto the stair railing all of the climb up, as poor balance is a side effect of the lumbar induced paralysis.
Well… now I begin every workout by making the 19 step climb with my cane tucked under my arm and not holding onto the rail at all. Humble sounding achievement? Perhaps. But one of many things I have learned at the “Y” is to disregard my pre-disability markers of performance and measure success in my new world accordingly .
So many of these climbs, the above mentioned Coaches would happen to be at the top of the stairs and literally cheer me on.
Literally. Cheer!
With all of the associated mental and physical challenges associated with coping with disabilities, how does one put a price tag upon the value of positive human interaction? From the EVERY morning cheery greeting at the front desk by Mona, to cheering coaches at the top of the stairs, this YMCA has provided not just the equipment to work upon my health’s improvement, but the people as well.
I am so ever thankful!
My best regards, Michael Denninger
