The staff are amazing
We left our last gym because of cleanliness and we were not disappointed With the Tom Taylor YMCA. Also, facility is just outstanding! We are very pleased with everything that the Y has to offer.
The staff are so friendly and the club is super clean,
The Y in Gig Harbor is a happy place. I go three times a week ...so many cool classes. I love the Zumba and downstairs Monday work out. I meet lovely people and everyone is doing something towards making themselves healthy . Thanks so much. Ann Stockdale
ps. I love petting the huge service dogs Monday morning.
My daughter, Mabel, was in Gatlin's swim lessons this session and it was the first positive experience she's had. She struggles with social anxiety, which gets confused with fear of the water, but he was so welcoming, understanding, and patient with her that she was able to participate in class and enjoyed going. I wanted to share with you what a phenomenal instructor he is. Thank you!
My daughter, who is taking her first swim lessons, was very nervous midway through week 2. She was afraid to do things the other kids were doing.
Sandi, who was instructing a group of adults noticed this and jumped in with my daughter to assist. Her obvious experience and initiative paid off immediately. She quickly gained rapport with my daughter and guided her through all of the drills that day, and the next day. She promised to assist for my daughter’s last lesson tomorrow. My daughter already trusts Sandi and is now doing almost everything the other kids are doing. Sandi’s experience, initiative, straightforward instruction, and willingness to help are invaluable to the YMCA.
financial assistance because I'm WAY too poor to belong otherwise
Friendly staff and a great facility
Staff is so professional and welcoming! Facility is beautiful and very clean
Time and exceptionally documented detailed info provided by Susan in sign up and trainer Shelly. Shelly went above and beyond on assisting and me with equipment set up and appropriate weights as well as recommended classes. She also will provide more reinforcement at follow-on appointment.I also joined the chair yoga class and enjoyed it. Overall, a very positive first visit.
Love the adult swimming lessons. Sandy, the instructor, is wonderful.
My husband and I love this YMCA! We recommend it all the time. So many different classes and facilities. Great instructors, and different experience’s. Thanks for all you do!
Can you open a cryotherapy chamber…..
While many of the staff are”crazy” they are funny too. Oops, I forgot to mention that they are helpful, friendly, courteous, kind and appear to love working with their colleagues and us members!
Thanks for asking!!!
friendly and helpful staff, clean facility
Classes and facility.
Clean, friendly, child watch program
The Tom Taylor YMCA is the nicest athletic facility of its type. It is better than all the high-priced athletic clubs I have joined in major cities around the U.S. We are blessed to have it in our community.
Courtesy, kindness.
The YMCA has amazing activities during camp and wonderful staff! The sports they offer are great, swim classes are awesome! My son absolutely loves going to the Y!
Such a positive experience for my girls! They absolutely loved Day Camp and would ask to stay as late as possible. We love our local YMCA.
like about = clean facility and staff is great
could improve = baby changing stations in family changing rooms please!
The camp staff are so caring, compassionate, and attentive to the needs of my child. They do everything in their power to help her have a great camp experience.
We are currently using the y to mainly swim. I have a 7 yr old and a 15 yr old girls granddaughter's that I am raising.
I would like to take some of the classes for older adults because I am 58 and have been living with Parkinson's for 14 years, but, there is nothing for the girls to do at the time of the classes. The kids gym and play area are reserved for day camp all day everyday.
It just seems like we can't all get into classes at the same time which would mean multiple trips
There is nothing for my 5'2" 109lb 15 yr old to do except play drop in volleyball or basketball with grown men twice her size and she gets hurt every time. This last injury was a dislocated thumb.
But, summer is nearly over and things will change with the beginning of school.
However we really do like going to the Y. Everyone is so kind and helpful.
Especially a man named Brian who is a maintenance man at the Tom Taylor facility. He saw Sophia watching the volleyball and saw that she was shy and uncomfortable and took her over and introduced her to some of the other players.
Another time when we were there on Saturday, he saw that Savannah was trying to play basketball and the hoop was too high and he to lowered it for her.
I see him walking around as he's doing his job and watching what people are doing and jumping in and making a difference when he can.
