Great equipment and friendly staff
The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful.
It feels like a family atmosphere and so many are willing to share information and assistance with questions we have about how to use the machines or getting into a class.
There is plenty of support here so no reason to feel out of place or insecure.
Thank you Gig Harbor YMCA for the outstanding service we get at this establishment.
It’s a great friendly atmosphere
Staff are so friendly. The facility is in really good shape. There are a ton of classes and activities offered.
Today there was a lady doing lunges next to the leg press machine. Her phone was sitting on the machine., I walked over to use the machine and she said she was not done yet, even though she was doing lunges with dumbbells. I told her if she’s not on the machine then she’s not using it. She didn’t like that and she said OK you can have it. I’m Itruly sick sick.and tired of people hogging the the machines even though they’re therenot on them. I think it’s time to put out a news newsletter, talking about gym etiquette.
It’s a beautiful, clean, facility. Great people. Everything you need or could want for a healthy life style.
Very friendly staff. Clean and organized workout areas.
Convenience of child care and wide variety of fitness classes
While I understand, it’s important to have a place for kids to go -the Friday night teen thing it’s just sort of out of control. I’ve chosen not to go to the Y on Friday evenings after work- the kids just hang out around the machines upstairs they’re not really working out- instead of walking or running the track- they r running side-by-side just being kids but it makes it a little harder to go in there and have a serious type of work out as an adult -so I’ll just rearrange my schedule and avoid the Friday teen thing
There are lots of options for workouts with all the equipment and the swimming pool. I would love to see some additional spin classes, but other than that, I think it is a great place to work out.
Water aerobics, piano for adults, writing class.
Cleanliness upbeat and friendly atmosphere
Location size program offerings equipment clean open space
The classes and very welcoming helpful happy employees
Tom Taylor Family YMCA has been a wonderful place for my family. There is so much to offer for all of us. We are so grateful for your existence in our community.
You guys have such an amazing facility. However, I do have an issue. The men’s sauna is gross. It has not been cleaned in weeks. It smells awful. The glass on the door has smudges all over it that have been there for two weeks. This is a sanitation issue. Besides that, it’s such a great place to work out. And the sauna is a huge component of that.
All staff are professional yet personable. Love the workouts in water aerobics! Highly effective instructors!! The inches and pounds are coming off.
The pun of the day on the board when leaving. Nice people work there.
swimming pool
Variety of classes available on different days and at different times.
The classes, the people that go, the folks that work there.
I love the silver fit class.
The beautiful building, the class offerings, the variety.
Always friendly, helpful and clean. Really enjoy my workouts there.
Attending the Y for my exercise has been fantastic. There are classes and activities for everyone at every level. I swim laps and try to attend classes.
My only suggest is to ensure class times or changes are posted somewhere/everywhere, I rely on online listings. Occasionally I've run into issues showing up for a listed class time only to find out it is not held at the time listed or cancelled. Last minute cancellations are understandable but if you are not a regular to the class it can be frustrating. Is calling ahead the only way to ensure times?
Thank you for listening.
The Y is the best way to experience exercise. It's complete with all a human body needs to complete their spiritual life. And the Y is the " BEST " place to go to receive this " GIFT " from God. If you don't believe me come see for yourself. I'm just a Messenger and I'm 77 years old & I'm not on any prescription drugs. That's what exercise (God) has done for me.
Sincerely, and God bless,
Frank C. Allen
PS - It's not just for kids or youth.
