Good price and great classes and equipment
I enjoy yoga with Marj and Greg. They are great teachers. I trust both of them; they have years of experience which gives me confidence. Because Marj's classes are not as crowded I get more hands-on-help which I appreciate and need.
I like the camaraderie I experience in those yoga classes.
I enjoy coming to the Lakewood YMCA. I am welcomed as I enter with a smile and friendly greeting. The facility is sparkling clean, spacious and has great natural lighting. Even on a cloudy day it seems bright and airy.
There are always plenty of clean towels and the dressing rooms are spotless.
The workout area is inviting. There are many different ways to achieve your workout goals and plenty of equipment to do that. There are treadmills, bicycles, rowing machines and stair climbers for cardio, and I've never had to wait for a machine.
There are weight training machines, barbells and two complete racks of dumbbells. The people who work out there are friendly, and I've never had a problem working in with someone, on the rare occasion that things were really busy. The trainers are very generous with their time and have answered questions about machines, equipment, form and specific exercises for my goals.
There are many different group exercise classes offered all through the day if you prefer to get your workout done in a group setting. The instructors are friendly and energetic.
There are programs for kids after school and in the summer.
If you're looking for a gym that is friendly, inviting and that gives you a lift just walking in the door the Lakewood YMCA is your kind of place.
It's just a really friendly, clean, accommodating facility!
Since joining the YMCA 3 months ago I’ve made lots of new friends and gotten into the best shape while having fun! The staff are wonderful and the facility very clean. I’m impressed!

I love YMCA! Great work out equipment and yoga classes. I usually spend more than two hours there because I feel so good. People and staff are so kind. They are plenty of towels, coffee and tea that everyone can enjoy! Thank you!

I have only been taken yoga classes with Marge. I enjoy her teaching very much. She has the ability to teach the same concepts differently which makes the learning less routine.

I like the strength and aerobic classes and I like the sense of community that results from going regularly and getting to know people in your classes. And I love the way I feel after exercising and the difference it has made in my fitness. I even increased my bone density a little bit!
