A great atmosphere to get a workout. They keep the place clean and the equipment is well maintained. The staff is always friendly.
My family loves the outdoor pool, and my young kids gained tons of confidence through the Y's swim lessons.
We love the kids programs like ballet and sports. We appreciate the Parents Night Out events, and the childcare at Lakewood Whiterock.
Also, the employees are very kind and helpful and the facility itself is clean and beautiful! What's not to love?!

I love having the outdoor pool available in the summer. PIckleball on M, W, F is great. I appreciate that the people who gather for pickleball are welcoming and helpful.
It’s very well organized, the people are nice, towel service is excellent, and classes are good. The only thing I’d love to see is a sauna or steam room.
Need better policing of the number of signed up participants for pickleball. Sevitimes we’ve had more than 18 participants for a signup limited to 16

The community
The classes are excellent. Sunday yoga at 2:30 is the best!

My grand twins age 5.5 years have taken swimming lessons from White Rock YMCA for the past three summers. Their mom Marisa and I shared the duty of getting the twins to the pool.
The first summer they didn't like the experience at first, but the excellent swim instructors were patient and positive. They lured the twins into the water with their fun manner, having a toy to throw in and get into the water with.
The second summer they took two sets of swimming lessons and really learned how to swim. They learned to hold their breath underwater very well.
This summer they worked on learning strokes and kicking skills so they could be more independent and successful in their swimming. Now they are like fish. They love being in the pool and are not afraid in any way.
Thank you for providing excellent swim instructors for young children. It takes a special person to be able to have a patient and encouraging attitude towards children who are afraid of the water.
The wonderful community of diverse people and great classes and instructors. I wish I joined when I moved here 5 1/2 years ago.

It would be nice if the little ones could receive a reward at the end of their session.
The teachers were fun and engaging. I wish the teacher could have been consistent for the whole session. It felt like starting over each lesson.

Great instructors. We’re patient with the kids. Encouraged them and always spoke with parents after class about their progress.
Lots of session times to choose from, especially in the evenings.
Pace is the greatest swimming instructor! After two summer sessions, our 6 year-old grandson is a fearless swimmer!
I have been members of gyms all my life, that said, White Rock YMCA is one of my favorites out of all of them.
I love taking classes and there are many individual rooms for all the different classes which means, there are a lot of different classes to choose from *wink* I especially love the 2 different step classes, regular step and Extreme hip-hop step. Step classes are not only good for a cardio workout, they are good for strengthening your cognitive reactions.
In addition there is a large free weight area and circuit area, along with a pool.
I give this Y a 10 out of 10 stars.

My only complaint would be the number of hours allocated to pickle ball. It has displaced many of the young kids who benefit from the Y.
