Friendly staff and clean new facility

Lake Highlands YMCA is a nice and clean facility. The classes are great and there is a pretty good schedule that would fit different peoples lifestyles. My only issue is the bathroom situation. The Men's locker room has 3 private bathrooms. There is one more bathroom outside for locker room for men. I assume it is similar for the women. On a busy day, it can be tough to get into a bathroom.
Also would love to see another platform and more machines for lifting. Moody, White rock, Semones have a bigger variety of machines. I understand their locations may also be bigger in size.
A great swimming pool and it's well maintained.
Facility is clean and employees are friendly and helpful. It’s a nice place to meet other people too who are friendly as well.
It’s a beautiful facility with everything you could want to get and stay in shape.
The variety of classes and activities
Great workout space with large fans and windows. Lots of parking spaces. Need more toilets in the women's locker room.
Recently updated facilities through expansion and renovations and great customer service!
The staff is very friendly and knows me by name. They are often adding new classes to offer a good variety of days and times for people.
I don't like the height restriction of 48 inches on the outside waterslide. My daughter is 46 inches and tall enough to ride Guardians of the Galaxy and Tower of Terror at Disney World, but isn't able to go on the slide at the YMCA. 48 inches seems a little extreme.
It was clean, it was quiet, it was a quiet atmosphere, it was a good work, I personally like this gym very much.

Very pleasant. My dad and I joined together because as he ages he needs to concentrate on better health. He hasn't worked out in a gym in 20 years. He loves it there and I do as well. Thank you for all of your hospitality. 👍😊
Indoor lap pool

Summer basketball is always so much fun and is a great intro for the younger kids. Friendly refs and emphasis on good sportsmanship make it such an enjoyable experience!
This newly renovated facility is TRULY amazing, from the super friendly, knowledgeable & helpful staff, to the large, fully equipped gym. Their EGYM system provides members with a wristband that stores your personally pre-determined settings for each machine in the circuit (settings are easily adjusted as you gain strength). You just scan your band, sit back while your machine adjusts to your settings, and off you go with 20 reps each. No waiting, or very little waiting between machines as the reps stop at 20 with everyone following the same route. On top of all that, you have both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool, toms of different fitness classes, child care...it's all right there at the Y!

Clean facilities, friendly staff, great equipment
I drive 22 miles one way to go to the Lake Highlands YMCA because of the INCREDIBLE Instructor, Darryl Reese. He is so very dedicated and inspirational! I m retired and get up at 4:30 a.m. to attend Darryl's class. He deserves a raise! Please give him our kudos and appreciation!
The staff are all super friendly! Combine that with seeing the same members when I go make me feel like I’m part of a family!
Lastly, the new renovation a couple years back really made the facilities super nice.
The indoor pool is a little cold, has perfect depths and there’s plenty of room in the southernmost lane for walkers and non-swimming water exercisers. I find members very friendly and easy to talk to. Staff is stellar and always ready to help.
Lake Highlands Y is very clean and comfortable; but we need to get the message out to families not to leave dirty towels and paper on the floors in the shower rooms. Cleanliness and kindness are the best and most considerate behaviors we can share. And NO GLASS CONTAINERS ANYWHERE and DON’T TAKE THE TOWELS HOME!

It is like a community center as well as a fitness club. I like having coffee with my neighbors there in the morning after my workout and the towel service that is included in my membership!
