There are so many choices and opportunities for members; a great variety of classes with wonderful instructors all through the day and into the evening. I love the Park Street Y!
Love being in community with all ages of members working on emotion and physical health. I am inspired by each and every person there—from staff to other members.
The place has a friendly upbeat feeling to it. Everyone is very helpful. The water aerobics classes have helped me tremendously.
Feeling of community. I’ve made many friends from attending. Also, it caters to the entire family. My son learned to swim there as a young kid and my elderly mom took classes there too.

The Park Street YMCA has the essential amenities, a knowledgeable, professional and amiable staff and the Steam Room & Sauna are superb & function at a superior level than other YMCA facilities in north Jersey. I've only been a member for two years but it's become an important part of my life and the ALL OF THE STAFF has become like an EXTENDED FAMILY!!!
all good - I am more than pleased with my experience with the location, the staff, with the facilities.
I do think there are a few areas of improvement:
a. enforce the rule that says swimmers should shower before they go in the pool - I see a lot of bedheads going in the pool and there are plenty of times I can smell the perfume or hair products on other swimmers who obviously did not shower before going in the pool. Once of the reasons I go to the pool at 5 a.m. on weekdays is because I figure it is the cleanest at that time.
b. the locker rooms are clean and well stocked with soap in the showers. Sometimes the dispensers are empty even at 6 a.m. Someone may want to stay on top of that
c. lifeguards are sometimes late at 5 a.m. I appreciate how early it is especially for younger guards but to show up at 5 a.m. ready to swim and have to wait until 5:15 and sometimes, 5:30 but rarely, is not acceptable.
d, parking is great at 5 a.m. and parking is covered so all the better during foul weather.
e. parking is a little tougher after 8
f. staff is friendly, attentive and helpful
g. happy that most days the sauna is started early so that it is hot when I get to it after the swim at 5:45 or 6 a.m.
Generally, all good at the Y. Holidays are limited. Staff is professional, friendly and helpful and generally the other members are interesting and a pleasure to be associated with. I have learned a lot from the other professionals at the gym, especially in conversations in the sauna.

Would like to branch out to other areas of the Y as well.

The Y has the only 25 yard indoor pool in town. The people are friendly and the place is kept clean and up-to-date.
