Range of fun and engaging activities
This camp is incredible. The staff is 10+!!! Everyone greets parents and kids with music playing and ‘hellos’ to every single person at top of day. Yasmin is such an incredible part of what made this camp shine, YMCA is lucky to have her. Shoutout to all the counselors that consistently met my child with warmth, joy, and care.
My daughter loves New Discoveries camp! She is excited to go to camp in the morning and comes home happy from camp each day! She really enjoys the variety of activities that are provided throughout the week, especially swimming and sports/splash. I also really appreciate that all the camp counselors are fun and energetic. She has really formed a bond with many other campers and counselors.
My only minor feedback is that I would appreciate the Friday event emails to be sent along a little earlier in the day to prepare for early morning drop off. Also, if there was an email with directions on drop off procedure/location for morning care before camp started for the season, that would have been appreciated, although it was not a big deal!
My daughter is already looking forward to returning again next year!
The teachers are involved, interactive, and compassionate! The curriculum is not only educationally and engaging BUT also fun! My daughter comes home with the BIGGEST, BRIGHTEST, most BEAUTIFUL smile daily! She looks forward to going to camp!
This is our second year in this camp and our son loves it so much! Every week is a new theme that makes him so excited!
This camp is the best. Our daughter loves attending and participating in all the summer activities and events. We love the staff and all of their support. This has been an amazing experience for our child.

Teacher Claire is welcoming and goes at just the right pace. The program is empowering for me as a parent while I’m in the water at the Y and gives me a good baseline for how to be with my son in the water when we are somewhere else in the water. My son is loving the lessons and looks forward to going each week
My kids have been going since they were 5 and they are now almost 12. They love Camp At The Lake and it has been really good for them. They both want to become counselors one day for Camp At The Lake. I always feel very comfortable with them there and they have matured each summer they have gone.

We had another great experience with the Park street Ys swim lessons for our 6 yr old daughter. We had to miss her last week in the session as we were away on vacation, but we'll be back for more lessons - thanks!
New Discoveries has been a great experience for our children. All counselors we have spoken with have been absolutely wonderful. Kids come home brimming with experience and quite possibly too many crafts ;-P

I recently moved from NYC and this camp offers so much at an affordable price.My children loved it!!! They are typically very attached to me but this camp was fun, educational and warm. Swimming 3X a week really tired them out. The amazing staff was the cherry on top!
The ability for my son to be outdoors and to learn how to swim in a safe environment. He has made a lot of progress in a little amount of time getting comfortable in the water. He also had made friends in a little amount of time as well.

The staff was great and very communicative and my child enjoyed camp.
I do think that enabling friends request would be much nicer - part of the camp experience for kids and parents is spending the time with their friends.
My son enjoyed the camp very much, and the inclusion of some swim time was great.
All three of my kids love New Discoveries camp! We have actually been to several other camps around town, but they love this camp most. The camp counselors are wonderful the director is great and everyone is very friendly

Staff is very friendly and on top of everything! The program is wonderful, I have noticed my son whose very shy and timid really come out of his shell. I really love the program and felt very safe and secure to drop my child off to enjoy his full day at camp! We will be returning next year for sure!

Our kids love the counselors and the activities. We think it is fantastic! They go in with a smile every morning and my daughter often doesn’t want to leave.
My granddaughter comes from having a feel day she starts bragging about the trip.
