I really like that the YMCA is a place for every kid- my son has been through almost every level and he has become such a confident swimmer. The instructors are really caring people and they work so well with the kids.

The swimming details of the lesson. I do not like the family room showers. They are messy, shower head knobs are caked with white build up and the shower heads are too powerful for such small space making it messy. The tiles and floor are molded in many areas, unsanitary. I don't want my child to stand on the shower floors. Why can't it be remodeled and fixed like the women's showers at park avenue and like the girls glen ridge changing/showers site?

The try to attend to which swimmers needs
Emilio, the instructor, is extremely patient and I feel like he’s gotten me more comfortable in the water so far with lessons. I wish the lessons were slightly longer, maybe 50 minutes as opposed to 40. And it would be nice to have an open swim time closer to the lessons on Saturdays for people to practice. A class schedule of what will be reviewed in each session would be great so if someone misses a class they’re not holding everyone else up with going over what they missed, they can review and research on their own.

Good gym. But I wish they had more classes like yoga at night after work. The yoga seems to be always during lunch/work hours.
Also it would be nice to have something like a social hour or Friday socials.

the facility is fine, it's an old building so it's bound to have issues. I do see you trying - new HVAC system is a big deal, even if it goes unnoticed by pretty much everyone.
I have more patience that other members, so I'm fine when one aspect of the offering is closed for a week or two.
the staff is very professional too. All seem happy to be there.
Bathrooms still need more clean ups. Especially on the weekends.

The staff is kind and welcoming to all. They all are accommodating and understanding to my child’s special needs , safety and different abilities social and emotional . They are also understanding to our family different dynamic and situations and continue to maintain professionalism at all times.
At the Y, Montclair's famed racial diversity is a reality. What's more, all ages, body types, and degrees of ability are accepted. There are very physically fit athletes in the pool, but also people who are using walkers when they get out.
Adela and her staff are all wonderful. My son has food allergies and Asthma, and Adela ensured my child had his emergency medications in the school, and communicated my son's needs with the school nurse. I completely trust your staff will care for my son appropriately in before care, and appreciate everything they do. My son even asked if he could enroll in after care because he heard the students have so much fun with different activities. We do not need the services at this time, but if needed, we would not hesitate to have him enrolled in the program. Thank you for everything!

My daughter always wants to stay longer to play when I pick her up. She has a close bond with the other after-care children and counselors and doesn't feel like it's a chore to be there.
I love pool and pickleball! People working there are nice and everything is clean.

The staff are kind and take up time with the kids. They play with and engage with them by hosting soccer matches, playing board games with the kids, doing crafts with the kids, and helping them with their homework. Ms. Heather and Mr, Parker are great supervisors and I feel confident that they will keep my son safe while he is there. When I go to pick up my son after school, he often wants to stay because he’s having so much fun.
