Convenient, friendly, lots of options
Terri is a great instructor. What I don’t like the fact that you do not ban the man who threatened staff from the Y. Not only are you putting staff and members at risk you are putting your daycare children at risk.
I love that there is such diversity there every time I walk through. There is literally something for everyone. In my family, we take advantage of the fitness center, but mainly in the offerings for people with disabilities. From going to Camp Evergreen with a 1:1 aide to the YPals and other programs, it has been a wonderful thing for my family to have the Y as a resource for my disabled son. Thank you!
great orientation for the egym!
Our family primarily uses the YMCA for the programs offered to children with special needs. The program staff are always cheerful and welcoming and they genuinely care about the children in these programs.
I have met so many, interesting people, made some great friends, and really liked the leadership.
Many different activities.
I’ve met very nice people through the Y & some exceptional instructors, esp Terri Tallman.
We love the Y
Great staff great classes for adults and kids
Just a great facility
The space is always clean, the staff is friendly, the equipment is nice, and there is so much variety with fitness classes and offerings.
I like the group fitness classes, the therapy pool classes and the equipment room
I love the fitness classes! It's great that so many are online and I can do them at home when I can't get into the gym!
Programs, childcare, friendliness of employees
Not too crowded
Classes, sense of community.
The Y at Hal Welsh is such a positive place , not only to work out, but to socialise at and make new friends. I love how the Y gives back to the Central New York community through supporting much needed services: I had the opportunity to volunteer with other members and YMCA staff to give back to other nonprofits, such as, The Salvation Army, and Clear Path for Veterans. There is a great camp program at Camp Evergreen, art for kids at Hal Welsh; Active Older Adult programs, and much, much more. I found my home at Hal Welsh after coming off of Active Duty in the military- where I found joy in volunteering and giving back.
Only problem is no track, excellent otherwise.
Everything,
Loved our first parent child swim class. Had a blast.
Don’t like that is was difficult to find an opening. I had been trying off and on for 6 months.
I like the Water Aerobics and find the instructors great!
Very friendly encounter as soon as you walk in and seamless process booking and getting on the court
to play tennis.
I mostly play Pickleball at the Y and I’m so glad there isn’t an extra charge for this.
the various class options, treadmills always available and free swim in the pool.
my favorite classes are: body combat, body pump, HIT, strength/cardio and running group
Also, everyone is always very nice!

The staff!! My locker was jammed and Christine saved the day so I did not need to go home in my wet swim suit!! :)
I love to visit the Y for swimming in the lap pool.
The staff is excellent. They are making a major contribution to the community. The variety of equipment is very good and the availability of equipment plentiful. Wait time is short if at all.
Barre and Pilates classes offered mid morning and in afternoon for folks retired and not wanting classes at 6 am or 6pm. Would actually like to see more days this is offered.
The water aerobics classes

I love the group exercise classes. There are lots of choices--something for everyone.
