Member Testimonials
good variety of programs and activities.
friendly, helpful staff.
Every thing I do like that much.
We love the aqua fitness classes!
Family friendly, welcoming, variety,
So many classes to choose from early morning, morning and evening. I love pound, TRX, pilates, cycle-sculpt, bodyflow... and the eGym and fitness center is always there in between. I especially love that there is also a philanthropic side to the Y, helping families and children "in my back yard"!
Love all the variety of activities and classes! So glad that there are many classes to choose from and the times works best for me.
For my doctor and friend.
The Aqua class is excellent and the senior fit class is excellent.
There is something for every age group and the gym is up to date on all the equipment.
I like the circuit training machines and the treadmills. I have started to go to water fitness class. It was hard for me to understand the instructor because the sound system wasn’t very good.
The recent changes to the programs at the SV YMCA I usually visit are very positive. For instance, Leroy has brought new offerings; I attended the recent six-week women's training course taught by a wonderful trainer, Liz Lange, and the sound healing event. I appreciate that Leroy solicits input and includes member feedback to improve programs and enhance members' experiences.
When I joined the YMCA almost a year ago and asked about small group training sessions (based on the description of offerings listed on the Website), I was disappointed to learn there was no such option. Leroy made a point of supervising and participating in the classes/activities and meeting many of the members when he came on board; he took the time to learn about my fitness goals, health concerns, limitations and interest in training and he offered to provide a one-on-one training session with me to safely guide me through exercises. This session was such a good experience because I increased my self-efficacy and confidence (to work out safely as I recover from an injury), and it encouraged me to participate in more YMCA classes and programs. As a result of Leroy's kind efforts, I look forward to enrolling in a small group training program to reach my fitness goals. ;-)
They are reasonably priced and enjoyable for children. The swimming pool and surrounding area is well kept up.
I feel like I am very welcome at the Y.
Outing and Dancing
The gym, pool, and staff
I visited when I was in the area and had a good experience overall.
Inclusive and meaningful teaching about swimming and water safety!
As a former swim coach this class is an important foundation for a life time of water safety! We have done parent /baby classes ,group and private lessons , and my nonverbal son is always learning and having the best time.
Aqua Fit
The activities for swimming and the gym has good equipment
my son like it when he swims at here
Great teachers. Perhaps more early morning yoga classes
I love that the class is small, the instructor is very calm and gentle, and it's a really nice facility!
Great classes & instructors
Gym
Varied, good community
Good coaches and overall program structure. Only I see there are no miss classes provided by YMCA. Kids fall sick and all where they can miss their classes, ability to reschedule those miss classes would be very helpful.
The swim lessons were not great to begin with as I do not feel that the initial instructor was very good at interacting with kids. Since then though, the instructor has changed and he is great making the sessions fun & making sure the kids are learning what they need to know. It is difficult for my 10/11 year old to be in a class of very small kids though :(
Wonderful
Something of interest for everyone at all ages.
There are a variety of classes and programs the Y has each year. They are always creating new classes for members to try.
Very friendly and helpful workers and trainers.

All the spinning and Power Pump classes.
