Coach Andy is great in motivating the kids!
Swimming classes are great and lots of time slots to choose from. The instructors are awesome and the whole staff from off to lifeguards
Central Y offers varieties of activities. Children and families friendly. Love both indoor and outdoor pools with flexible hours. Staff are friendly.
Coaches are very friendly with the kids, they focus in teaching kid’s swimming along with having fun. My kids love getting to y for swim lessons. Good job guys!

I do not engage in group activities at the Y but rather use the machine and free weight rooms. Both are well-equipped, and the rooms are usually neat and clean.
Over the years I have also used Susan as my personal trainer which has been wonderful.
I love your pools!!!
thanks
All Y staff members are friendly and helpful, particularly at the front desk! Their smiles and greetings are apparently contagious, because this Y just feels over all like a nice place to visit.
Other stuff:
The permanent (?) post-pandemic outdoor workout areas are a great way to take advantage of our generally mild California weather, and are a real incentive to keep up an exercise routine.
The basketball court is nicely maintained, but... If $$ allow, some possible improvements:
- Fix the dead spot in the floor under the basket closest to the front desk
- Keep a stock of full-sized basketballs in the gym. (29.5).
- Replace the fan-shaped backboards with rectangular ones. (I know this is expensive, but it would actually make the side baskets useable.)
Anyway, thanks for everything, and keep up the good work!
It’s Family oriented Athletic club , where everybody know somebody l have been a member for over thirty years always latest equipment friendly staff , and very good swimming and group e Exercise programs , personally l come at least three times a week and l am more eager to see my friends than exercise .
Doable, none of the classes require a special skill set. Challenging, there are classes available for even the most advanced.

The Y is welcoming to everyone
Great instructors
The body pump class
I use the facilities but not the programs or activities.
Swimming class and kid’s club
Dave's spin class! Best spin instructor ever. Lots of good group exercise instructors. Low-key, friendly members... not all decked out in expensive workout gear with attitude,
The youth basketball program run by Andy Garcia is a great starting point for any little hooper.
love the YMCA.
My husband and I love that we have 2 different well maintained pools to swim in at some point during the day depending on the YMCA's and our schedule. The app notification is really great in giving a heads up if there is a pool or facility closure! A very nice feature, not to mention schedule classes and pool schedule for various YMCA's fairly local. Different YMCAs allow for even greater flexibility if your home location doesn't work for you on any particular day; just look-up another location to see if the pool's open or has a class you want to take.
The various classes allow for variety for everyone of differing abilities, personal needs, and schedules.
The variety of machines are also very nice to use.
I need to mention the enthusiasm of the staff. Every staff person seems happy to be at work and if there are concerns they are addressed immediately. All are willing to listen or direct you to whom to speak to if your looking for answers. I feel safe at the Y.
I love the staff! They are such caring and friendly people. I only swim there, so I'm not too familiar with the other programs and activities. But I appreciate what the team have done over the COVID period.

I enjoy my Y; the staff and the clients are very welcoming and mostly friendly. I can only go to classes at six or later; the only ones available at that time are water aerobics. I miss my nighttime Circuit Training and Zumba classes at Central. Also, I miss the later hours; as a single mom of two teens, sometimes I can only focus on myself after they are fed and settled. It would be nice to be able to get to the gym after seven and not feel rushed to complete my workout.
The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable.
The class instructors are engaging and make us want to keep coming back. I have regularly taken Zumba with Kelly and TRX WITH Angie. They are amazing!
The staff that train, teach, and coach are knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. We have experiences across a variety of Group Exercise classes, kid care, swim lessons, and of course front desk staff.
So the YMCA is famous for programs - and seeing
programs outside by the pool, in the pool, in
the basketball court(s), and in the handball courts
means lots of competition, socialization, and the
possibility of league and tournament play.
Especially enjoy the handball courts. They have a 50+ year
history, and the gallery shows multiple National champions,
Hall-of-Famers, and Youth National Champions have gone
through the handball programs. Nationally acclaimed
Coaches work with Youth, San Jose State University,
Palo Alto Veterans Clinic, and an open invitation to
come enjoy the Perfect Sport, while other family members
use pool, weights, and aerobic equipment.
Could use a Juice Bar? Like to buy a protein smoothy
on the way home from a tough workout. Hint! How about
the area across from the checkin desk?
Good job! Keep the doors open and the programs running!

I play handball and the Central Y has 4 excellent courts and the staff of the Central Y works cooperatively with the handball players. As a result, we have many players who have stayed with the Central Y because of the loyalty and support of the Y for handball. The handball tradition is very strong.
The Central Y has developed a good relationship with San Jose State University. It's encouraging to see the Y associated with a prestigious university.
Also, parking is easy. Access to the Y is easy.
The staff are always friendly and cooperative.
The floors of the basketball courts and handball courts are well maintained.
The Central Y appears to have a great swimming program and an excellent youth basketball program. Also, many programs for children and outreach for the minority community.
I have been a member for a lot of years and have recommended the Y many times over that time period.
Everything, the pools, the sauna, hot tub, staff specially Jill Johnson and Thomas
Each program has multiple sessions per week and for different levels of participants

There are lots of program options, friendly staff, solid coaching, and it’s somewhat affordable.
