Feeling of community, general facility cleanliness and equipment available. 24/7 access though I don't use it, it's there for me.
As a stay-at-home mom, I love the opportunities the YMCA gives me to get out of the house and exercises, both by myself, with help from the kidzone and with my kids, utilizing the pool and gym. I also love all the opportunities they have for younger children in the community.

I like that the Y keeps updating the facility and keeps it in good shape (i.e. gym floors being refinished, repairing broken equipment, keeping the members updated on the status of the broken equipment).
My favorite thing is the fitness classes. The class instructors are all awesome and so dedicated. Jeff, Shannon, Christina, Andrea....all make the experience so much better. It is so much fun to be able to interact with other members while working out. I have made many new friends at the Dow Bay Area Family YMCA. Great atmosphere.
The new CEO seems very responsive to members concerns and acts to make changes (i.e. he kept the 5:00am class at 5:00am, he now has the Y open a couple minutes earlier so we can get set up for class, and the equipment room on the gym floor is kept open so we can set up our weights and equipment for class). Those small things mean a lot to the members.
I also like that I get the emails with announcements and new programs. Very well done.
(A suggestion would be to have staff periodically clean the cardio equipment like they used to and to clean the gym floors more frequently as well)
I was in a severely abusive marriage and I couldn’t get out of and had no access to money I applied for a scholarship to the YMCA and it was the only safe place I could go or I could work out and work on my mental and physical health but I was there I was able to get out of that marriage I live on Social Security now but I’m safe and I’m still able to have social time and workout time at the YMCA. Ymca is my lifeline
Pool exercise and socialization
Great facility, clean, so many exercise options, wonderful staff, terrible jokes on the white board -- love it all!
Well coordinated schedules and programs and clean conditions. I’m really missing the mens steamroom though and the permanent lockers in the mens lockerroom need to be deodorized more often, I know that is a tough one to police but it can be quite rank sometimes
The new hours starting this September are great!

My trainer Lindsay Dorman has revived this 70 year old body and take me to a level of fitness I could only dream of.
No matter what my work schedule, its always available to me.

You have everything I want to accomplish. Only thing I would recommend is that you bring the towels back in use.
The people are great as well as the atmosphere. Great equipment and plenty to do at the Y.
Family friendly environment with plenty of activities to choose from. We especially love the Y during the winter when it is obviously much more difficulty to get outside. The Y keeps us active and engaged in our community!
Always clean, Always friendly people. The hours are of operation are great! The exercise equipment is in great shape. It’s an all around conducive environment to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I highly recommend Bay Area family Y!
Staff is awesome and so are the people that go to the Y !! I just wish you would open Sundays at 9! I come every Sunday to do laps and then to work! Keep up the good work!!
Many things!! Really enjoying Chuck's exercise class on the river. Linda's class challenging and know really good for me. Loved the pool. Great teachers and people. Classes keep me going
Everyone is very friendly and always willing to help with what ever you need. It's a great place to make new friends. You always feel included in any area you try, and always tell you do what you can do, everyone is different. I'm so glad I pushed myself in joining .
I enjoy swimming. I use the lap lane often. My husband likes the smaller workout area. Everyone is very friendly & helpful!!
