They Have Great Camp Staff & The Staff Keep My Son Safe, My Son Comes Home Tired Everyday So That Let's Me Know They Doing There Job Good With There Activities To Keep My Son Busy @ Camp, Thank Y'all For Everything
Different themes for the week, fun activities at camp and on field trips, there are water play days, swim days are great.
I love the variety of programs and activities offered. Summer camp is built to be fun for the kids, and yet structured and safe. I work full time and really appreciate the opportunities given through the YMCA Summer Camp for my son.
Our two young sons loved the PreK discovery summer camp at Estes Elementary. My only wish is that you could run the program out of the main Asheville YMCA location as it would be much more convenient :)
We love the Explorer and Adventure Camps because they expose the kids to the fun to be had outdoors and encourages them to be creative and active!
I like the fact that they keep the kids entertained all summer long. Field trips and crafts everyday. Plus all Enka district schools meet at one location, opportunities to make new friends.
The director Cam is excellent. He picks a great team and solid safe activities. The location is fantastic and my son loves his time there.
I love the affordability, the variety of activities the kids enjoy, and the flexible pick up and drop off at the camp.
The kids look forward to summer camp every day. It never gets old to them. They learn a lot of cool things as well as the camp keeping them engaged in good wholesome fun.
The kids are very engaged with their counselors, there is a wide variety of activities , and the pick up/drop off are easy!
My daughter loves going to camp... it's literally one of her favorite things. Between the incredible camp counselors, the fun events, pool time, field trips...all of it, it's just wonderful. Although no one wants to pay for child care, y'all make it affordable and there are options for financial aid (vouchers also work with the Y). We are also really grateful that we have access to go to the YMCA to swim, use the Kids Room, work out... whatever, it's wonderful!!
The staff are friendly and the program offers many activities that are engaging and fun
This is the third year my kid (now 6 years old) has participated in YMCA summer camp at Beaverdam. I let Andy choose which camps to attend, and YMCA has been at the top of the list since the first time. The field trips on the bus are always a highlight for Andy. I like the longer hours (many camps for this age group are only 3 hours, which is challenging for us to accommodate with work schedules) and the flexible drop-off and pick-up windows.
I love the fact you guys keep the kids active and they have something to do everyday!
My child loved it. The counselors were awesome, especially the director we had, Lily Elder. She was extremely attentive and professional and reassuring with my child’s life threatening food allergy. We felt safe and as though he was in great hands which means everything.
The activities and themes each day were fun and kept it exciting! The price point for all of this was absolutely awesome. Would recommend this camp to everyone!! Wish we would have signed up for more weeks.
My grandson loves going and the counselors make it fun!
You always keep the kids busy!
I like that it gives my child (13) something to do over the summer. I would like to see the CILT program a little cheaper since they are not campers but helpers and I'd also like to see that program go the full summer as well.
Very pleased with the staff on duty at the Oakley site. The are very attentive and friendly to my child. Especially miss Kettner.
My son liked the trips to the lakes to swim and the horseback riding adventure the most. The staff were all fun and engaging.
I appreciated how easy the drop off and pickup is. Also the staff responded quickly to my questions in person and online.
Very hand on and supportive workers. They understand my child disability and willing to help him figure himself out along with figuring out a better way to solve problems
Always keep kids engaged and learning something new. Great staff and great for the kids.

My daughter was at the Erwin district last summer and absolutely HATED it. The staff were not attentive, didn't check ID's. Barely done any craft activities with the kids. The negative exposure she got from the other children at that Erwin district was astounding. This year she is at Beaverdam and LOVES it. The councilors are so good with the kids. The themed weekly stuff is wonderful. She looks forward to going every day. I don't even have to send her for childcare on Fridays but she begs to go. I can only hope that all the camps are brought up to par to compare to Beaverdam.
