Member Testimonials
Reasonable price, CHILDCARE
Many classes are free with membership, and virtual classes offer more options.
Home base nearby & I like running into friends & neighbors. I look forward to pickleball
The only problem that I foresee is the difficulty scheduling an indoor swim. I think that the hours of activity should be increased.
The instructors are good at what they do and the people are friendly
That you guys try to make everything available for everyone.
Variety, affordability, and availability.
Variety
Good selection of activities for all ages
Good variety of types of group exercise classes. With the virtual and in-person classes, there are so many offerings that I can find classes that fit my schedule. Instructors are very personable and encouraging. They give people individual attention and learn everyone’s names. Staff is so friendly and helpful. There’s such a different vibe at the Y than at other gyms.
There are several options for sports programs. The Y always has lots of activities going on as well. We recently put our 6 year old in Taekwondo and she loves it.
Professional, friendly staff
I like the convenience and selection of classes in the morning hours.
This YMCA is user friendly and staffed with smiling, friendly people. All instructors are well trained and establish an easy rapport with their class.
and the great variety of the means to work out, such as weight, lifting, walking, swimming, pool, etc. in a well-maintained and good clientele environment
Water aerobics
Always a friendly and inviting!
Very good variety of physical programs for seniors.
#1: The Pool, Sauna, and Hot tub!
#2 The Aerobic and Workout equipment.
#3 Cleanliness
I use the exercise room for weightlifting and cardio.
Most of my lifting is Olympic Lifting, meaning the Clean and Jerk, and the Snatch, and supplemental exercises that help me improve my technique.
I like the rubber bumper plates, they are what I am used to when I trained for these lifts and they are a little bit softer when they land on the floor. I try not to drop them until they are close to the floor to keep from damaging them or the floor. Sometimes I use some of the other machines for general strength-building. I especially like to Assist Chin machine, as I am trying to improve my pull-ups. I also use the dumbbells and kettle bells.
For cardio I use the elliptical machines, they are smooth and easy on my joints.
Someday I hope to start playing racquet ball again, as I have not done that for many decades and I remember that it was a lot of fun.
The POOL!
All inclusive. Varying levels of ability. Age appropriate programming. Equipment is in good repair.
There is a wonderful variety of programs. My personal Trainer, Sadie, is Wonderful!
The YMCA team support
Facilities and staff are exceptional.
It's disappointing the monthly membership fee went up, while you run no join fee all the time.
Group fitness classes
I like the new equipment. I also like that the YMCA is more then just a gym as it does a lot of good work in the community.
Great variety of programs for active older adults.
Easy parking.
