Instructors
I like your exercise class options
I love your instructors.
I took my niece and nephew to the pool, they loved it. The younger one liked the slide and the older one the swimming lanes.
Your pools
Great workout equipment and great workout environment.
They are age appropriate and informative There are always people around to answer your question
The health center with the weight equipment is excellent. The people who work at the YMCA are super friendly and enjoyable to talk with.
Please address the issue with human poop in between the slats in the little seat benches in the Men's upstairs locker room. I've mentioned this issue a couple of times within the suggestion box.
I enjoy the group exercise - strength and stability, cardiac dance, chair yoga, and have used the pool.
Great instructors
Great Lap swim
Friendly place , good classes
I was recently diagnosed with osteoporosis and Jenn Trejo helped me with the machines. I really appreciate her help!
Lots of activities for every member of the family!
It’s low pressure. Doesn’t matter what I wear or do, even silly looking balance exercises. I don’t feel self conscious or judged.
I also feel safe there.
I like the schedule of group exercise classes. There are a lot of options- and I love that you can go to any Y in the Indy area.
Cost, variety, times.
All the machines, cleaning, and staff
Love the Aqua Fitness for Arthritis, and Aqua Zumba. Enjoy the outdoor pool in the summer.
Soccer clinic was well done. Appreciated the focus on skills.
The gym and water aerobics are great. Our family enjoys the pools, the sauna and the camaraderie.
Everything
I’ve been a member of the Jordan Y since I graduated from college 25 years ago. I don’t participate in programs or activities, but it’s always suited my weight lifting and cardio needs. I love the proximity to the Monon trail as well. I frequently bike to the Jordan to lift.
The Jordan Y has facilities that meet my fitness needs: A well equipped weight room, a lovely outdoor pool, roomy gender specific sauna, tons of locker space, and direct access to the Monon trail giving me an alternate base to run from. While I have only asked questions about specific machines of them, the trainers available are some of the friendliest and helpful. I haven't used any of the group exercise programs, but it's nice to know they're there. The indoor pool could use a re-imagining. Whatever rubber liner they've got in there is functional, but strange on the hands and feet. Other Y's have standalone pools for water aquatics, which helps keep lanes open for lap swimmers. Not sure how that could be changed easily or cheaply, but it may be something to consider for the capital plan.
I really like the fitness area and the pool.
