I appreciate that the staff has always been approachable and never condescending; yet they are also knowledgeable and helpful. I've been a customer with them for nearly a decade for various parts and tools. I've never thought twice about referring a friend there. Too bad all bike shops aren't like this.

My only complaint is that they no longer have a store in lincoln park (as of ~2019). But that has nothing to do my past visit.

The folks here are very helpful and attentive. I try to stay up on the maintenance of my bike, because I ride a because I ride a lot, and see these folks at least once a year, their repair work is very good. I make an appointment to drop my bike off and then they tell me when it’s expected to be ready for pick up. I’ve always gotten my bike back before the pick up date. I do enjoy the bike I bought from them. I will say that these bikes are little bit on the pricey side, but they do perform well. I have had issues where I needed extreme repair done one of my bikes and they took care of the problem without any hassle. I do recommend Petri Bikes to my friends.

The quintessential aspect of Petri's bike are the people who work there. I've been going there since 1975. Al was spectacular as an owner, a mechanic and a
friend. He has left the ownership in the very capable hands of his daughter, Elizabeth, and his daughter-in-law, Melanie. Both are very knowledgeable when it involves making a purchase and doing repairs. Plus they are both amiable and affable. Every time I go in the shop for anything, I leave in a better state of mind. Also, Jeff is an excellent mechanic.
