My son took the LEGO robotics class. This was our first experience at Sylvan and it has been very good. He has really enjoyed the class and learned so much!
Our son, who is typically very reluctant to work on his schoolwork, and had self-defeating thoughts about certain subjects, has begun a turnaround - due to the encouragement of a handful of the staff members at Sylvan. It is slowly starting to make a positive difference for him, and he is beginning to turn the corner. For that, we are completely grateful.

What did I do when my child did not fit the typical school mold? I tried homeschooling! Even though I am a full time working single parent, it is possible with Sylvan's help. I would never have considered homeschooling on my own since I work and I didn't think I could handle all the different subjects (like math). But when my child was struggling and the public school system was not able to help, I had to do what was best for my child. And Sylvan can help supplement a homeschooling program and help with subjects that parents struggle teaching (like math). When choosing what option is best for your child, do your research. But make sure you check out all the options including homeschooling with the help of Sylvan. I am glad I found out that was an option for my child.
Sylvan was quick to try and figure something out how to get my daughter in for classes in the three weeks she had before taking the ACT
the teachers are superb and Erin makes sure that we are taken care of and will adjust our schedule accordingly to other activities that arise ! she makes us and I'm sure every student and family feel like they are top priority ! Every one is special to her because she cares about their future ! My daughter especially likes the way her teacher Doug really takes the time to explain things to her so she can understand it ! she say's he's awesome ! and coming from a 14 year old that means a lot ;) they don't hand out to many compliments !

Thank goodness Sylvan will go to the school meetings with you! They brought the updated reports to show my child's progress. I really felt like Sylvan was on my side and I was not alone with all the school officials. They helped explain options to me that the school laid out. And they gave their opinion of what might be best which really helps when you feel overwhelmed with tricky situation. They really helped navigate through everything. As a parent, I have to make these tough decisions that affect my child's future, but having their input really made this a whole lot better.

I like the regular progress meetings, the ability for Sylvan to partner with my son's school to maximize his ability to succeed, and the fact that my son actually doesn't mind going to Sylvan. Previously, he hated tutoring of any kind and always complained about it.

You are able to meet all the goals you set for my daughter in a timely manner. Your center director, Karla is professional and highly knowledgable about my daughters needs. She has gone out of her way to make sure that our needs are met. We are always satisfied with the progress our daughter makes after her sessions at Sylvan over the summer.
