Exercise and social gathering
I am an active senior and just LOVE the variety of classes that are offered five days a week. It’s so awesome to have the opportunity to take advantage of a full week’s worth of classes or just go to a couple if my schedule is way busy on a certain week. Oh. And did I mention that the three instructors I have are absolutely awesome?! Joining the Y was the best thing I have done for myself in a long time!

I have been away from the gym and workouts since COVID. I knew I needed to get back to being healthy but I am not diligent enough to work out on my own. I read an article about a woman who loved group exercise. It made me realize that I begin my health journey with group exercise classes and that I may just need that again. I originally belonged to the Y's of Sarasota, pre-COVID but now live in Parrish. I looked the LWR schedule and all I found were Les Mills classes. They were never "my thing" while at Sarasota. I felt they pushed out the original classes I had always loved. But I knew I needed a schedule to get me back on track so I took my first Body Pump class with Kelly G and loved it. Then I tried the Sprint classes and felt amazing after I did them. I joined LWR just over a month ago and I now hate missing these Les Mills classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Because I did not have to work on Memorial Day, I was able to take a Body Combat class and absolutely loved it! I forgot how much I loved kick boxing. I wish there were more on the schedule.
