They are basically most of the programs I had at the Y in NJ 4 years ago. Since I just joined I don’t have much to say, but my daughter has a family plan at Melrose Y and she recommended it.
Group fitness with veronica, Stephanie, and Courtney. Theyre all excellent! The second floor equipment is also great along with the sauna.
Calvin is a great swim instructor for our toddler!

The buoys that divide the lane are really big and hard plastic maybe when you have to get new ones they could be smaller in size and less hard plastic. Tough to hit when sharing lanes . Water fitness with Rubin is excellent for all us old ladies with his personality and music it is a joy to come to class . The lifeguards do a great job at keeping everyone safe.
Lots of variety
I admire the people who help (staff) as well as the ones who go to the Y and use the classes, weights etc. very grateful for Max, Lindsay, Teresa. All whom have helped me. Bernadette showed me that there is compassion for all that are a part of this association. Thank you First name removed.
My instructor (Kyle) is a perfect blend of kind gentleman and taskmaster. He will laugh at your joke then tell you that you have five more to go.
I also like to socialize while I exercise. I also enjoy supporting the people in my class. Their motivation inspires me to do more.

The Aqua Stretch class is fantastic, it is my favorite class to date. I have recommended it to many others, as well.
Nicole who runs Fitness after Menopause is awesome. She has the wonderful ability to engage a group ( post menopausal women, no less ..and keep them focused on their fitness goals. She is able to individualize the participants exercise programs ..so that you get all the positives of group participation while working on own unique program. I'm feeling stronger.

Fabulous choice of classes, plenty of them and superior instructors and staff.
A few things: 1. why does the soap have to smell so bad in the bathrooms? At least the women's. It's truly terrible smelling. 2. can you please get a cold plunge. Otherwise, I'm happy with the gym, great equipment, good personal training options and good kid's programming.
I really enjoy Line Dancing, Chair Yoga and Chair Pilate. I wish the yoga class was on the third floor because it fills up fast.
I like that there’s a variety to choose from such as menopause fitness, swimming, Zumba, etc. and I like that the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and supportive.
Appreciate the range of classes and strength of instructors.

Would love more yoga options as those classes full up very quickly and the smaller room cannot accommodate as many participants,
Good selection of fitness classes with great instructors! Love the renovated fitness center too! So many great Y memories through the years: my kids attended the Melrose Y daycare, learned to swim at the Melrose Y, attended Camp Melstone for years we were members at the Saugus Y pool.

Aqua aerobics for seniors is one of the reasons I joined
Knowledgeable and courteous instructor. My recommendation is to have no more then 2 students per session so the new swimmer will learn faster

Lift Heavy program is awesome. Kyle is great.
